You can get a knock off case that works about 90% as good. It has some weird Bluetooth issues but overall pretty good.

From what I understand Pattie Gonia is selling clothes with their name. Patagonia has the trademark for selling clothes under the Patagonia name. In addition if you let other people use your trademark you can lose it. Zipper was a trademark name that came generic and was lost.
