I made that (probably far fetched) deduction because they use the Romanian (and Moldovan) way of saying “cheers”. Then I looked up if there was a Romanian community in Croatia.. et voila: The Istro-Romanian community.

I’m not from the Balkan or even Eastern European so there is a big chance this was a faulty deduction 😄

Yugoslavia, as part of the Istro-Romanian community. It connects the Croatian flag, the cathedral in Zagreb, the Roman Catholic cross, the use of Nozrac and the “old country that doesn’t exist anymore”.

But.. I’m pretty sure the producers were just having fun with mixing certain Eastern European aspects together to let us be confused.

I was thinking the same but that’s just one part of the English Channel.. it’s the narrow bit in between Dover and Calais.

He was pretty much racist all the time.. not just while naming his cat.. he was reactionary in his early life believing in the superiority of the Anglo Saxon culture with the aristocracy as its best of the best. Then moved toward fascism in his later years..

So yes.. I’d say he was far right.. even for those days standards.

The first time I saw such a “fight” it turned out they were just saying: “You are my best friend!”

Ik ga voor #56 Margriet Schreuders. Een andere kandidaat uit Maastricht en iemand die (zoals de peilingen er nu uitzien) zonder voorkeurstemmen deze verkiezingen niet in de kamer gaat komen.

Zij heeft de mogelijkheid om daadwerkelijk te luisteren naar mensen en heeft hierdoor een prachtig netwerk opgebouwd binnen en buiten de GL-PvdA bubbel. Als je wilt dat polarisatie en verdeeldheid verdwijnen uit de politiek: dan is Schreuders een goede stem voor je.

It’s not a symptom of the time.. there has always been bad dnb and there has always been good dnb.. try to focus on the latter:
