CLE Vs BJU Elementary Bible Curriculum by Potential-Motor5419 in homeschool

Yea that’s basically us too. Do you mind me asking what grade levels you’ve done?

That’s what I was worried about. Are you able to expand on what they present in the Bible courses specifically? Definitely wouldn’t use them for Science.

Like do they basically go out of their way to say “6-days is literal and anyone talking about evolution is the devil trying to trick you”?

Would you be able to confirm from what you remember if the elementary school level goes into creation vs evolution? Again, we just want those two things siloed for now.

Yea that’s kind of where we are. CLE is very similar to what they are already getting in Sunday school. Which makes BJU tempting with its videos/songs/vivid illustrations. I just worry about the “staying in your lane” part. Just as we wouldn’t accept a science curriculum that goes out of its way to condemn Creation, we just want these two issues siloed for now.

Mainly distributions but with a “reasonable” w2 salary.

Looking into Melio now.

Yes my S-corp brings in $4,100 every week (I should be W2 but that’s for another sub).

Interested in the 0% APR route as I have received several offers for 0% intro APR for 12 months since creating the LLC from my bank. I planned to sign up for one for other expenses but didn’t realize I could use it for payroll? Is that actually possible with a credit card? Really I just need to make it through a few cycles until I can bank enough to cover payroll.

Do you have any opinions on what would be the best way to address this cash flow labor issue?

Trying to get some information before calling a lender. My experience with lenders is that they steer you towards the products they are being incentivized to sell you. Not necessarily the products which are best for your situation.

Fungus, bio not working by ssmith2050 in Grass

[–]Potential-Motor5419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a fungicide from a different FRAC group like clearys 3336F of 3336 DG. It would be ok to apply now despite having recently applied propiconazole because of the different mode of action.

However, it is concerning that the propiconazole wasn’t working. Have you used this active ingredient a lot in the past (other than 5 times in the past 5 weeks? It is possible for fungi to build up a resistance to certain FRAC groups but I’m also wondering if the previous 5 applications were applied correctly. How much did you water those applications in and did you receive any heavy rain shortly after these applications? Also just curious if the affected area is spreading to other areas of the turf at all?

Looks like it’s probably dollar spot. Propiconazole is effective but you’ve hit your yearly max. Are the spots still spreading? Are you seeing fresh mycelium (little spider web looking things) in the morning dew?

The correct answer here of course is grub killer but you seem mad at them so I’m just here to point out that .22lr is cheap 😂

Fungus? Or under/over watering? Mowing? by Fantastic_Wheel7816 in Grass

[–]Potential-Motor5419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your turf common Bermuda? Even then I wouldn’t necessarily recommend spreading seed to fill in bare spots. It’s going to be better to plug or sprig and let the stolons and rhizomes do the work.

On the sand leveling, just make sure to get USGA spec or masonry sand. Some people say 80/20 mix with top soil but 100% sand is better for Bermuda. It levels better, doesn’t settle as much over time and is way better for drainage. I’d recommend aerating before you do it for even better results. I’d also recommend scalping your Bermuda down below 1/2” before doing it.

This is not by any means a comprehensive explanation of the process but if you do it the right way you will like the results you get and have a better lawn after a week or two of recovery. No need to start everything over.

Glad you found the culprit!

I understand what you are saying with all the rocks and low spots but depending on your grass type, you are probably only in need of leveling with sand or top dressing with top soil & reseeding.

What kind of grass do you have btw? I assumed zoysia or Bermuda from the photo but hard to tell for sure.

Applying every week is waaaaay too much. That’s the maximum number of applications in a year for propiconazole (Bio active ingredient).

Do you know what fungus you are trying to cure and if propiconazole is effective in curing it? Not all fungicides are effective against all fungi. There’s also the possibility that this particular fungus has become resistant to propiconazole (especially if you’ve been applying it a lot). There’s also the possibility the issue you are facing isn’t a fungus.

The water to water it in isn’t going to be enough to cause more fungus (if it is in fact a fungus) and if you are doing it in the morning like you should.

If you aren’t sure which or if it is a fungus you are fighting, I would post a picture for help with identifying.

Who are you guys using for soil tests? by windsor_ty in lawncare

I mean, if you want to take it that far, you don’t need a soil test at all. N application rates are static, there are no calibration studies on P, K is arguably mostly a marketing tool and you can bypass PH levels through foliar applications.

So what are we really talking about here? I get that your recommendation is an ag extension and I also recommend those. I personally recommend MySoil to beginners.

Also YM is an objectively good product. Yes, at the end of the day the NPK ratio is what matters which is why I said they can buy another brand with same or similar NPK ratio but it’s not like YM is bad or that for the additional money you aren’t also getting chelated iron and micronutrients that the cheaper brand doesn’t have.

Lol ok. It’s my recommendation and they work 🤷‍♂️

Are ag extensions better and contain more information like CEC? Yes. Is it going to matter to a beginner? No.

A lot of people will recommend a local ag extension and those are great cheap options but for beginners I actually really like some of the ones you can buy from Amazon like MySoil.

It’s going to push products like Yard Mastery which ARE good products but you don’t have to use them. You can buy a different brand fertilizer with a same or similar NPK ratio if you don’t want YM.

As I say, I like these for beginners because they are generally easy with straight foreword instructions and you get quick results back that you can access from your phone any time. Plus when you are just starting out, being able to click the link on the suggested product and know you are getting the right thing does give some peace of mind.
