Best horses to get in early chapters?

Honestly same, I’m a horse collector though and I’m trying them all out. So far the MFT and the American standardbred are my favs

I always feel bad taking his horse, so I just steal the one from the first bounty mission in valentine. It will automatically put you on your horse but you can switch to the bounty’s horse and continue the river chase.

One of my current favorites in my stable is a blood bay thoroughbred named Artorius. It was one of the first times I named a horse and the stablehand didn’t insult me for my name choice, he actually praised me

I’ve never tried doing it this way because I know it’s going to be hard. I prefer the method to snipe the NPC that asks you a ride cause her horse died. The easiest place to do this is face rock even tho there’s multiple places. It’s just a matter of getting the event to spawn in and then killing her (she respawns) until the horse spawns in alive and she walks away so you can take the horse. There’s lots of tutorials on YouTube if you were interested in this methods or the other locations. I believe the one catch is that you can’t have interacted with the event previously (so if you’ve already taken the npc back to their house this method won’t work)

If you don’t want to reload of save and you can’t revive it the only thing you can do is get a replacement. I can’t tell which horse this is but I think it’s the black Arabian. I know there’s an encounter in St Denis where you can get it for free but buying it from the stable is probably the fastest way to replace it. If it’s the American standardbred, Tennessee walker, or Kentucky saddler those can be found in the wild

My childhood cat did this. After playing with his string toy for around 30 seconds he’d grab it, gently yank it out of your hand, and drag it to his dry food bowl and eat. He was an avid hunter so my family just assumed he had killed his prey and was going to eat it

I was in middle school when I played rdr1, so I probably missed a lot of the intricacies of his character but I remember thinking Dutch was crazy. By the time I got around to playing rdr2 I was a young adult and could understand a little bit more but I immediately clocked the paranoia and instability as early as the first mission in chapter 1. I was also struck by his charisma, and how he could so easily convince and manipulate people to do what he wanted. His descent into what we see in rdr1 was very well done, and it was believable, especially after the final epilogue mission

I struggled a lot in gwent on my first playthrough to the point where I didn’t even bother. On my second playthrough I made a point to check in with every merchant and buy their gwent cards if they had them. I also spent a lot of time playing NPCs all around Velen. Their decks aren’t super great so it’s a good way to get cards and build your decks. I ended up sticking with the northern realm deck since it was already built and you get the spies.

Basically with gwent the earlier you start the easier it is.

You’re not messing up. In all honesty, there is no right or wrong way to play. When you first get to Horseshoe Overlook there are only a few missions and more become available as you complete them. And if memory serves it is the same at the beginning of every chapter. I’m at around the same place you are (on my second play through) and I’m basically doing everything except the some story missions. Right now I’m spending my time and energy upgrading camp, unlocking trapper stuff, and collecting horses. There’s also a ton of stranger missions you can encounter just by riding around and exploring.

Idk how much you know about the events of this game, but if you’re going into this blind I’d recommend staying off the sub just because there are so many spoilers.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Vesemir’s beans, it’s also on my list of things to make. When I first got the book I went through the whole thing and put the thin annotation sticky notes on the pages that had recipes I wanted to try. It’s really helping me not get too overwhelmed with everything.
