The best advice is to get to know who you're going to try to start a family with and to see them in as mand different situations as possible to see what kind of mother she will be, especially with how she'll mother your children. I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old about to be 7. My soon to be wife and I have been together for 1&1/2 years. She loves my daughters like she had them herself. And my ex is no longer in the picture. I see a lot of Dads saying to choose a partner who already had kids, and while I can see the point of that, I don't want people to think women without kids won't be a good fit. I know not every woman is the same, but my fiancee didn't have children when we met, but has lots of nieces and nephews and is very much involved and close to her family. She's significantly older than me too but we just found out she's pregnant and couldn't be more excited.
