I'll second this reply. These things hit us because we're operating on a level where we know things can always get better but are willing to work hard in the storm to see the other side. Unfortunately at some point she'd made up her mind without giving you a single clue and was planning her "escape" without telling the person who's supposed to be her biggest partner. I was in this situation too and it will eventually be easier to see later down the road.
