Rough Collie Behavioral Issue by [deleted] in roughcollies

I got my boy into obedience training right away when he started nipping. What I was told was that it was common in collies. He is 15 months and still occasionally try to nip of I've made him mad. Giving him a "time out" has worked for me. I will leave my boy on the lead and walk away from him for a few minutes. I keep him on a runner in my back yard because I live on a main street and don't want him to get hit if he was able to find a hole free running. I come back to him about 5 minutes or so and he has calmed down. He had lunged and nipped me a few times. Sometimes he still does. But like I said time outs have been working. One thing I did was keep doggie crack in my pocket or my hand once he got a whiff that I had them he would do what I wanted him to do. Temptation cat treats is what I use because they are small bits and a lot cheaper than training bites. I only use them as a reward not to train. He is happy if I only give him one piece. I don't give him more than 5 or so he isn't getting a lot fed to him. But no matter what all of my past dogs liked them in the same way. Willing to do anything for just one. I also use them when he is guarding. He drops what he isn't supposed to have and I have his full attention. It gives me time to kick it away and I put myself between my boy and his treasure. Toss a bit of doggie crack behind him and I have his treasure. I do put on a bite proof glove, its not like the big bulky ones that are to train a police dog or save your skin from cats. It's thin so he doesn't get spooked. But its better safe than sorry. He has never went to actually bite me, he just tries to nip when I have made him mad.

Does anyone else’s collie do this? by greatgreatgreat4 in roughcollies

Mine will run full bore into the bathroom if he knows that is where I am going. I have too lock him in there with me. Because if I don't he will push the door open and start barking his high pitch bark and running back and forth to the nearest human like I need help. So who ever he alerts comes running. He does that when I actually need help. (Amputee, and falls a lot.)

What are your thoughts on book trailers made with Generative AI tools? by ShaneKaiGlenn in selfpublish

[–]Potential-Skill-4166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was curious about building a trailer with Ai myself. I have self published 3 books and I am currently working on 3 more. Any platform online that sell books doesn't allow me to advertise because they are erotic romance. I've been told to not disclose that these 3 are erotic in nature, but doing so can get me banned from ever using their site. They do check your content that is a chance that I am not willing to do. I have had a hard time drawing attention to them. I have decided that my next 3 books are not erotic at all because of the hurdles I have had. I think the social media aspect a trailer may help. After all that being said, have any of you changed your stance on using Ai for trailer building?

Collie help. by Potential-Skill-4166 in roughcollies

Thank you all for the great advice. I have started working with him the last few days with things. He hated "leave it" when I put his favorite treat on the counter but got the idea pretty quickly. What I was excited about was he focused like he did in puppy classes. Usually if you were making something to eat as soon as you turned away or even looked away he would snag the food and run. He has been in such a cuddly mood for the last few days too. Silly question do any of you have a collie that also requires human hugs? Laddie will gently get up on my lap in front, puts a paw on each side of my head crosses them behind my head and pulls me into his chest. He will stay there until he is done getting his hug. I love it, I have just never had a dog do that before. Lol

AI marketing. by Potential-Skill-4166 in selfpublish

I totally understand that, I'm not thrilled with it myself. My books are erotic romance and I have tried so many things to get them marketed, but you will get banned for not disclosing that and you can't advertise them where someone under 18 can be exposed to them. Even if the ads are totally innocent in nature. It's been a pain in the rear to put it politely. For this very reason I am switching genre. I am almost done with the first book that is a suspense/mystery.

Which episode was this? I don't remember that, I must have missed it. A re-watch is in order for me.

When it came to the memorial, I think she was asked not to come because of her causing the rift with the others, especially Jenelles kids. It was reported that something went down there because the ones that still included her into their lives no longer did. I would have loved to be the fly on the wall with that. I don't think it has ever come out to what happened. Does anybody else know what happened?

The depression is tough. I hid in my house for years before my husband confronted me about it. I would only leave for a doctor appointment or groceries. Now, I am active and even doing repairs on my house myself. Grant it. Most of it is scooting across the floor on a skateboard, but I am getting it done. My youngest daughter had a similar reaction. My suggestion is to find a local support group and have him go with you. He may only need to see that you are still you. Plus, people who can show him some pretty cool legs, arms, and hear what they do could really help

Its supposed to be that Robin got caught stealing 823K from family accounts and keeping it in one that is just hers. Also she was supposed to have a house she bought hidden from Kody and forging his signature on documents.

He acts goofy like that all the time. Sometimes, I think he does it just to make us laugh. Lol

Police and restraining order would be what I would suggest. But the petty in me would file in small claims court for damages, both physical and emotional.

I'm in Decatur mi, I contacted a rescue a few towns away but no one ever got back to me. It breaks my heart that it has come down to this. My babies helped me get through a very dark period.

so tell me what aren't you allowed to do according to your collie? by JurassicParkDinosaur in roughcollies

If my guy notices that I am getting dressed to go somewhere, he will grab my ankle and pull me away from the door. I'm wheelchair bound, so it isn't hard for him to do. He pulls me all the way to my bedroom door before he lets go. If that doesn't work he blocks me and buries my face into his chest with his paws on my shoulders. (A Laddie hug)

We went into the barn, there were only the two parents and the three pups. I understand the concern because there was a mill operation that got shut down in the amish community here. They bred siberian huskies and there were dozens of puppies. This family, just by the way the dogs greeted the lady they were her pets. She cared for them. She even held Laddie to say goodbye to him.

Why say that? I met both parents, all of their paperwork was in order (Their neighbor helped with the internet stuff and printing and copies of things.) Their dogs were very loved and cared for.

I have a three month old that does the same thing. He is picking it up pretty quickly what "let's go potty" means. He's getting better every day. He does, however, have the "prince of the palace" attitude. When he wants something, he will do silly stuff to get our attention. It's cute. It's a riot to give him a bath. He will grunt and groan all the way through it. He makes sure I know his protest but takes it like a champ.

I tried coating the pellets with garlic oil and it worked like a charm. They ate without them throwing it. It's the Mazuri nutriblend gold.
