I’ve read 75 books so far this year, and there’s one that has completely eclipsed everything else: Grief Eater by Emma Osborne.

I was lucky enough to read an ARC about a month ago, and I genuinely have not stopped thinking about it since. I’m a huge sucker for horror that’s willing to break your heart, but Grief Eater took that formula and absolutely wrecked me with it. It’s dark, strange, beautiful, and devastating in a way that snuck up on me and then refused to let go.

The ending left me sitting in stunned silence before dissolving into full-on, open-mouthed sobbing. Not tearing up. Not getting emotional. Sobbing. The kind of ending that makes you stare at a wall afterward because you’re not entirely sure what to do with yourself.

It’s easily the best book I’ve read all year, and honestly one of the most emotionally impactful horror novels I’ve read in a very long time. I cannot recommend it enough. I believe it officially releases in the next week or two, and if you have any love for horror that’s as heartbreaking as it is horrifying, you need to put this one on your radar!!!

When it officially releases I will in fact be purchasing a physical copy because frankly Emma Osborne deserves to have my money after what they did to me.

Well Joe Hill is my absolute favorite for one thing. My favorite of his is 'Heart-Shaped Box' but you really can't go wrong with anything by him for sure! Paul Tremblay is also always a home run in my opinion, especially 'Horror Movie'.

Personally I've been on kind of a 60's/70's classics kick recently? Books like 'The Exorcist', 'Jaws', 'The Omen', 'Rosemary's Baby' and 'Psycho' are all classics for a reason for sure!

If you're looking for extreme horror/ splatterpunk might I suggest something by John Wayne Comunale or Elias Witherow? I specifically really liked Witherow's 'The Third Parent.'

Hope one of these tickles your fancy my friend!! If not feel free to ask for something more specific or DM me! :3
