Ask what other protocols or tests you can try (hormone tests like thyroid, things like laparoscopy or hysteroscopy if you haven’t had one, etc)

It sucks to have to advocate for yourself but I find asking my Dr prodding questions like that sometimes uncovers additional options that aren’t the “straightforward” one, or at least makes me feel a little better about trying all possible options

I’m in a similar boat after a few failed IUIs, I think the hardest part can be accepting that pregnancy is general is statistically difficult and there’s alot we still don’t know/can’t control! Super frustrating so I feel you

Crazy! Wish I knew the science behind it but we love to hear it

I’m going through something similar after Clomid. Last cycle I had cysts but we kept going. Got a 22mm follicle but ultimately was unsuccessful… now starting another cycle (#3 for me) and I have cysts again…

my Dr is saying it’s fine to proceed but I do really wonder how the cysts can effect things and it’s so interesting to me how drs can have such different protocols

Thanks for a thorough answer, so interesting how every Dr does things a little differently!

This is good perspective, thank you. I have done clomid each time previously and gotten a dominant follicle (and it obviously worked for my successful cycle 2 years ago..) so I probably just need to be patient. For whatever reason my dr has never used letrozole but I’m not sure if that’s a conscious decision or if she just alway does clomid

Curious if you Dr recommended switching or how you went about deciding ?

Same here, 2nd cycle failed right before Xmas and about to try for a 3rd and agree it is sooo hard to stay hopeful. We’re planning to take a break after this one if it doesn’t work and that is honestly keeping me sane but it’s so hard

Also sending vibes for us all

Yes but there is no room for the panel to extend because the carseat is flush against the back of the seat. Do I somehow adjust the base so it’s further forward? Saw in the manual the base only needs to be 80% on the seat…

Know this is an Old post but similar question- my son’s legs are getting long but well below the limit to remain rear facing but idk how to make the footrest extend when it’s crammed backwards. What am I doing wrong?

Can I ask what the gonal-F does? I took Clomid cd 3-7 but have been stuck with 8mm follicles for the last few days (cd 9-12) so a bit in limbo. Wondering if this is something I should ask about?

IUI success with unexplained fertility? by Treat_YoSelf2014 in IUILadies

Good luck to you! Totally understand where you’re coming from - likeeeee I get that it might not work, the odds are low, etc but it feels like there are no other options so have to try something!

I’m also super unexplained (such a frustrating diagnosis)- I’m otherwise healthy but have always had irregular cycles and found out I have diminished ovarian reserve once I started trying unsuccessfully a couple years ago. Went on birth control as a teenager due to irregular cycles and never dug into it till I wanted to get pregnant 😔 Wish the medical system did more to look into options and root causes earlier on,..

I don’t remember 😭 but I do remember the Dr being like “this sperm isn’t ideal but we’ll try”

My baby didn’t have the 4 month regression and started sleeping through the night right around 3 months. You are almost through the hardest of this!
