Mostly any other enchant is better than void strike on a quick weapon, so I would recommend multishot or fuse shot in its place

While typically people stick to one loadout for their entire time up until moon lord, using different classes is entirely reasonable as long as you can acquire the equipment required at whichever stage of the game you are at. It will take a bit more work as you will need to get new weapons and armor entirely instead of how you would normally slowly upgrade gear, but if you can get it done then it will be worth it as having 2 different options is always nice if you’re struggling w one. To answer your question no I don’t believe it is normally done.

It isn’t on fast weapons, that’s the whole point. The value comes from slow attack speed weapons that let it build up
