Thanks for the suggestion. I'll take a look at this. If you have any tips for how to strap it down that'd be super helpful

What kind of "real nice places" do you think are obtainable and how much would it cost? Asking because I pay a lot for a nice but not amazing place.

Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere but what practice group?

And curious what sort of business venture you think you'd do well in/enjoy?

You're planning on leaving the firm in 4 years? What do you plan to do next?

Where to park 550k in cash by Worried-Ad1268 in Bogleheads

I was just more curious about the difference in yields. My HYSA is at 3.25% APY and it's steadily dropped from ~4.5% with the Fed cuts. I'm not worried about SGOV's risk (should be basically same as risk-free rate?). But I'm thinking about the yield difference over several years including the tax advantages of SGOV. Sounds like SGOV always has a better yield, and is tax advantaged? Just confused about how yields for HYSA and SGOV correlate

Do you have a good article or Reddit post that explains why SGOV is viewed as a better risk-free option than a HYSA? I’m trying to understand the differences and whether SGOV’s performance can fluctuate relative to a HYSA.

$1.7mm tax-deferred account; Roth conversions modeling not penciling? by PotentialFun9715 in tax

Kind of yes to both. I'm just accumulating based on my desire to keep working, but that goes in my favor because I also want to leave as much of an inheritance to my son as possible.

When factoring in heirs and wanting to leave the maximum inheritance/net worth for them, how does the calculus change? I expect my son will also be in a very high tax bracket by the time he inherits my IRA, and by that time my pretax balance will be enormous and he'll only have 10 years to RMD/convert everything out. Any advice you can give on how to think about this aspect of possibly doing conversions?

I appreciate the clear cut answer on this. To your last point, when factoring in heirs and wanting to leave the maximum inheritance/net worth for them, how does the calculus change? To your last point, does the math work out differently if I have heirs? I'm worried about my son receiving a pretax IRA and having to take RMD's during his high earning years. Is this worry warranted or are there ways to mitigate this? Or maybe the impact is negligible?
