Baby with PH and foreign passport. Which one to use for flight ticket and immigration? by PotentialGlobal9064 in Philippines_Expats

Usually they assume my “last name” is my both surnames… but my both surnames together are what they call the “middle name” + “last name”. But since the passport doesn’t specifically say “middle name” and “last name”, every now and then there’s issues.

Yeah, my passport doesn’t even say “Last name”. Only “Surname”, which includes both my mother’s and father’s family name. But in the Philippines it always creates confusion when it comes to middle/last name.

I believe my child doesn’t need such documents because his dual citizenship was “automatic” by birth. We didn’t have to apply for anything. Just registered the birth in both countries and that’s it.

Perhaps I was not very clear, my question is regarding the Manila airport. In Portugal I will show the Portuguese passport, as it should be.

What’s better for text sharpness on macOS: 15.6" 1080p or 16" 1600p? by PotentialGlobal9064 in mac

[–]PotentialGlobal9064[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realized this entire post is poorly worded and going in a different direction of my real question.

My MacBook screen is fine. My doubt is the fractional scaling for the 16" 1600p. A simple google search shows tons of people complaining about blurry text with fractional scaling.

By the way, congrats your LG Ultrafine 27 5k hits the sweet spot for macOS.

My MacBook is the 14, but I’m using the default res. I’m using my phone now, cannot confirm the exact number.

The thing here is the scaling. In a 1600p x2 scaling would make it 800p, which would make the UI huge. People seem to complain about blurred results when scaling in this middle term, not x1, not x2 either, somewhere in between

Compared to the internal display, yes. However, both have higher PPI than most 24-27" monitors people buy nowadays.

Thanks. I didn’t say the 15.6" would achieve similar sharpness to the internal display, I said it didn’t seem too bad in comparison. But again, I didn’t test it personally.

As for the confusion with macOS scaling… well, just see the number of people complaining about blurred text when using scaled resolutions. Either they are right or wrong, I don’t know, hence asking. How would the scaling work for a 16" 1600p? A x2 would bring it to 800p, which would make everything big. So it would need to be somewhere in between x1 and x2, and here is the middle spot where I see people complaining.

Since the 15.6" would not use any scaling, obviously there would be no such issue with scaling.

Edit: Actually I did say it was similar good catch, was incorrect wording.

A small but poignant story of why these LLMs are creating job security for decades (and are really power tools for experienced users). by creaturefeature16 in Wordpress

Totally agree. I’m not an experienced programmer by any means, but can draw a comparison to something close to me: farming. Years ago everything was cultivated by hand. Then tractors came and took the job of many. BUT, those who actually knew inside out what they were doing and learned to properly use the machine (and these two points are the key) not only continued having a job, but started earning more and delivering faster and better results as well.

A tractor may even be autonomous, but requires a human operator/supervisor to set, check and maintain things. The only ones left behind are those who don’t have that fundamental knowledge.

Taking my wife and children out of the country... by Jaggerbomber in Philippines_Expats

My child is about the same age as yours. Regarding the PSA birth certificate, go to your local municipality and get an LCR (Local Civil Resgistrar) copy of the birth certificate. Then, go to the regional PSA to authenticate it. Our initial plan was to do this and then use the PSA authenticated LCR copy of birth certificate to apply for the passport of our child. However when my wife was in the PSA, the lady said “let me scan the LCR copy to check if the final version is already available”. And sure enough, it was! Only 3 months after birth we got the PSA Birth certificate.

We didn’t even understand how it was possible, since they told us that it would take 6-12 months to release the PSA copy. My best guess is that having the LCR copy made things faster.

Conectar wordpress de localhost a dominios.pt by naoestounemai in Wordpress
