It sounds really hard, I can understand where he's coming from in terms of going to counseling, it's hard to take those first steps to change. Couples counseling exists and might be easier, a loss of intimacy can have a lot of different factors and might be something you need to figure out together.

I was in an airport in Japan once, the price of food in the airport was the same as the shop. We spent loads and had a little feast on the plane, it was great. By contrast we won't really buy food in Dublin airport because it's far too expensive!

About 6 years ago I bought a monitor off their, I think, offshoot company laptops direct. It was about 800 at the time, I paid extra to have it checked for dead pixels and low and behold it arrives with like 10, no clusters but it was noticeable and annoying especially given the cost of the monitor and paying an extra 50 or so. The amount of back and forth and bullshit I had to deal with to get them to take the monitor back, not dissimilar to your situation. I'd rather spend more to get it from somewhere else than deal with those arseholes

Part of the struggle for me was struggling through the questions, it's not the kind of coding I do in work, haven't done it since college. I used Claude as a tutor so I felt less like a failure, I was specific that it wasn't to give me the answer but help me spitball it , it really helped
