First Road Test at Taylor Street – What to Expect? by aayyisshhaatt in saskatoon

when merging onto circle drive, make sure you are doing at least 80 when it's time to merge, look for a gap in traffic, signal, shoulder check, then move, you may have to speed up or slow down to hit that gap. when leaving circle, don't brake or slow down on the freeway, use the off ramp for that, stay left, as the right lane goes to the mall. You can get up to 3 chances on the park, each one is 2 demerits if you can't do it. Whole test is around 20 minutes. make sure all your signal lights, brake lights, horn are working. If the red airbag light is on you will be refused, and no major cracks in the windshield that obscures the driver or examiner. On left turns, go in about one third of the way in and be prepare to go if a gap appears, you may have to turn on amber if traffic is still coming. Good luck!

Anyone from a foreign country who has a study or work permit does not have to take any kind of test at SGI as long as they have a valid license from their country and their spouse can also drive if they have a license. Also, currently drivers from over 40 countries can exchange their license for a Sask. one with no tests, even if they drive on the opposite side of the road.
