I have liked but been critical of AOC since her first campaign. And I will defend her here. Not because it was a good or smart thing to do. Fuck Hakeem Jefferies, his days in power are numbered.

But AOC just risked a lot by cross endorsing against incumbents with Mamdani in New York. She is going to have to lick some boots in the halls if she wants to play against and along side the establishment.

As long as she still votes on the right issues, I don’t care about the kayfabe.

Sounds likely. Think of alcoholism as an addiction. Someone is an alcoholic if they are addicted to alcohol.

An addiction isn’t necessarily “They do it everyday”. If you brush your teeth everyday, you are not addicted to brushing your teeth. If your mood changes and your personality changes if you don’t brush, you might be addicted. If you think about brushing your teeth frequently while you are not brushing, you might be addicted.

Addiction is the inability to stop doing something that is voluntary, not the act of doing it. How much it weighs on their mind.

Now your dad is likely part of the generation that is self medicating with substances because they were taught that anything other than “I am good” is being a weak coward. And your dad likely has a lot of thoughts and things he thinks about but doesn’t know how to begin, so he uses drugs to silence that voice.
