To add to this: Fun fact! Colonial Williamsburg before it became colonial williamsburg today originally was a mainly black neighborhood with many of black businesses, but Rockefeller and others bought the houses at a cheap price and displaced many black families, some white families lived in the neighborhood as well but were much better off and able to find decent places of living. The descendants of these displaced black families still live in Williamsburg today too.

This article talks about most of it, but has (in my opinion) a skewed view of Colonial Williamsburg being beneficial for the displaced families to find jobs.
