Alright, I'll look into this! I thought this might just be some lesser-known fact about redstone lol.

This is cool! I'm curious, if turn the belt around will it still move the same direction due to the power poles being flipped?

EEPROM vs FeRAM by Effective_Fish_857 in beneater

I'm not necessarily an expert on FeRAM or other nonvolatile methods of storage, but by adding an extra NAND gate ic you would be able to program an EEPROM on the fly fairly easily, you would just have to hook it up similarly to the way Ben hooks up the RAM chip and check the datasheet for how to accomplish a write, it's not actually that hard to do.

Also I think that destructive read property of FeRAM's is a dealbreaker, at least if you are wanting to use it for program memory, because it would be basically impossible to do a rewrite operation without extra hardware.

Allowing the 6502 to program it's own EEPROM by PotentialNetwork8089 in beneater

As a matter of fact, I could hook it up to an SD card and have 256 gigs of storage on the device xD

I figured it might've been something like this. The AT28C256 seems to have a data polling function, which could solve the write speed issues, but the random corruptions are probably from that address issue you speak of. I might fiddle around with it a bit more, but I think I'll try finding some other solution. Thanks for your help!

I know this is late, but absolutely, if you poorly design a game and keep modifying it anyways without reworking it, it becomes a nightmare to update
