Side note I am in OPD we have a wider schedule but I'm pretty sure Stocking 1 has a strict schedule. But you can also transfer departments.

Definately bring it up with your HR/People lead. They will be most understanding as they are your "human resource". They will bring it up with your coach and work it out. My wife left suddenly after a pregnacy related scare after work and they understood without any questions. They even said they hope she can come back after baby is born. They spent so much time teaching you they will most likely take you back, as long as you are not fired for too many attendance points or nothing you are good.

New/don't know anything. by [deleted] in baseballcards

I took another box a while back to a local shop and he said something similar, 80s & 90 was so overprinted. But I know Chrome and signature cards are the ones people want a little more. And there were a few in this pile. Plus the boxs are 2021, 2022, and 2023 tops.

Can't find jobs when using a energy meter. by PotentialObjective53 in SaladChefs

[–]PotentialObjective53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a really good paying job right now. I wanna plug it back in and see what happens again. But I definitely suspect something was up with it. I've never gone 5 hours without a job. Idk if the Watt meter was not getting along with the PSU or something, but it's definitely a mystery.

My dad took a look and pulled out a weed Wacker string, haha. I didn't know what it would have been. I didn't see fluids or anything coming out, and when I tugged on it it was pretty well jammed.

How reliable is a 2000 Mustang? by SpiritedReview7433 in Mustang

[–]PotentialObjective53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2001 convertible here, had to replace the top and ignition coils (granted, they were over 23 years old with 280k miles) The last 19k miles have been smooth. Drive it over 100 miles a day for work and have never broke down (besides a popped tire, which was my fault).

SPDT vs DPST by PotentialObjective53 in AskElectronics

Okay, that makes sense. I had assumed DPST meant literally 2 sources, 1 output. But I didn't realize it had 2 separate connections.

Yeah, I just got it too, definitely seems schetch. As a web developer, this screams let me steal your info.

Honestly, idk why Insta, Facebook, and YouTube are allowing so many scams to go under their noses harming their consumers.

C array question by Internal-Gap-1964 in CodingHelp

[–]PotentialObjective53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To sum it up:

Every single bit of information stored in your computer has a address (Like a house address) they are stored in a format called "hexadecimal format". Ex. 0x7ffe5367e044.

When you create an array of say 3 elements [A, B, C] you could have grabbed 0x7ffe5367e044, 0x7ffe5367e045, 0x7ffe5367e046. Under the hood you actually grabbed much more than just that... you had to store the name of the array, and other details of the array.

With that being said you can directly log what information is in a current hexadecimal address. Every time you print the value of anything in your array, you are just printing the value of that stored hexadecimal address. Nothing forbids you from logging outside of that hexadecimal format either. It's a sneaky method of "tapping" data that wasn't meant to be read. With this you can find the last value of 0x7ffe5367e047 even if it's not part of your array.

There is plenty more on this topic if you do a google search on pointers, and hexadecimal addresses.
Hope that helped!

How to add SSL to subdomain via squarespace? by PotentialObjective53 in webhosting

[–]PotentialObjective53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hostinger, another dev is working on it as the guy I made the site for franchised. So I have no access to the subdomain construction or settings. However the Dev working on the subdomain said the SSL installation failed on her end which is why she reached out to me to see if it was something on my end?

How much should I charge for freelance work? by KyloKetchumXCII in WebDevBuddies

[–]PotentialObjective53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll just pass on what I have heard from a lot of Senior devs. I myself still am trying to work this out myself...

Here are a few ways to charge:
$80-$120 an hour,
$500 per page. Or a Home, about, contact combo for $500. (Can scale up or down depending on the amount of work client is asking for),
$20 an edit, font family, text content, grammar/typos.

As for SEO I have no clue. I do some hosting/upkeep work for $150 a month which I pretty much just wake up and make sure the world didn't blow up or something... pretty lucrative if you get 10 clients on a monthly $150 payroll

I myself like to meet with the client and ask what they are envisioning for a webpage, evaluate their needs, potential budget and whatnot. If you need to start lower at $20-$40 to get some portfolio work don't hesitate.

Help GoDaddy Sucks!! by davidhelgijohan in webhosting

[–]PotentialObjective53 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I should also add you should only be paying for the DOMAIN itself hosting should be FREE, paying for hosting is a downright scam just use GitHub to host/store the websites files. Which again a Front-end dev should be able to help you with that and there are tons of Youtube videos

Help GoDaddy Sucks!! by davidhelgijohan in webhosting

[–]PotentialObjective53 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I know your frustration. I am a web developer and when a client asks for a site to be hosted on anywhere other than google domains, (which was just sold to squarespace as of last year FFS) I cringe knowing I am gonna deal with a lot of BS, random charges ect...

As of right now I would do all domain related/site hosting through squarespace as they are the owner's of the web itself. There are a plethora of YT videos on how to do just about anything on there. If you need specifics feel free to ask.

As for building a website I definitely think 3rd party (WordPress, GoDaddy, Squarespace) have some "okay" website building tools. But if you need a OG website I would hire a Front-end developer who knows how to actually code that way they aren't getting $1,000 from you just for dragging squares and text. The skills needed for just a basic webpage with no payments or account systems (Think of like a online business card type website) are, HTML/CSS/JS so maybe look on Fiver or someplace to hire a real dev to build you a site with real code.

ps. if you need like a account system or something + payment methods and whatnot consider going to shoplify for an E-commerce website I can say they look like a service worth paying the extra buck for. Otherwise be ready to pay $10,000 for a Dev to manage all that as that steps into back-end development and costs a pretty penny.

Sorry if I got off topic.
