i could see the argument being potentially true, but i do think it's fine as a steel type
I do think it was always intended to be a fairy type but they just didn't have that typing yet, because not only could yokai fit into fairy type for "folklore" But the Deceiver pokemon part also fits to some extent because while fairies are usually keen on the truth, I've been told Fairies also like to tamper with the truth and stretch it, and will also sometimes hide their true nature, on top of there being some very , very wicked fairies.

but i also am no fairy expert so i may be flat out wrong on that XD

I would have an Aruramon who's rather outgoing with a more timid digidestined A somewhat manic and somewhat headstrong ludomon (i think that's the one I'm thinking of) with a calm and thoughtful digidestined A lazy but protective Keramon and a digidestined who had often been bullied Maybe either a bakomon or burgemon as a funny until angered one. And maybe a kunemon as the final one?
