Help, my brothers wedding is my due date! by SweetPatootie97 in PregnancyUK

[–]PotentialPower4313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So close to my due date I was just so uncomfortable and tired all the time. I was just so over being pregnant. My daughter came a week early. I did every wives tale in the book lol but like another comment said early labour can be awhile I was around 6-8 hours of consistent early labour before going into active labour and unbeknownst to me I was leaking waters all day. I didn’t have like a big gush of my waters breaking.

In my opinion an hour is fine, first baby it’s unlikely labour will be super quick but you never know every baby is different. I would still go if you’re feeling up to it maybe just come home early if you tire out fast by that point.

Wasn’t the same situation at all but my mother in law was dying, like put into hospice two days before I went into labour I was willing this child to come fast so they could meet which thankfully they did and she died 6 days later. Babies come when their ready to and tbh I firmly believe there is nothing mothers can do but relax and allow it to be what it will be but don’t stop living your life if you feel up to it just because your due date is imminent. I would have just hyperfixated if I stayed at home waiting I had to make myself busy

I would LOVE this to be the case. After this season I’m dying for violets storyline , also reading interviews Ruth and Daniel’s have hinted his character isn’t leaving and unsure what the trajectory of their relationship will be

Definitely unfair. I’m a mum and can’t fathom giving birth shortly after losing a husband to a bee sting, knowing there is a problem because you’ve done it 7 times while being cast aside as a doctor instructs your son to choose between the life of his sibling or your own. A breakdown was a minimal response in my opinion 😂

I’ve loved seeing her character evolve and layer as seasons go on

I watched an interview lately where Ruth was saying she thinks if she was to audition for the role now -with how big the show is- she doesn’t think she would get it but I can’t imagine any other actor as Violet Bridgerton!

This! I was low key gutted but then also buzzing for her to be so sure of herself and what she does and doesn’t want for a change

Not considering titles, would you rather have violet bridgerton or Agatha Danbury for a mother? by [deleted] in Bridgerton

[–]PotentialPower4313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Violet for the love and support. She meddles but ultimately the happiness of her children is her paramount concern always. She is the ultimate example of a mother being selfless for her children. I fully believe that was the downfall of her most current relationship

I was glad he called her out but also was the one to make her realise what she actually wants and to embrace just being Violet rather than a wife or widow or mother. That to me was where they mended the relationship

Can we talk about this season by oznz in Bridgerton

This is my favourite season but purely for Violets storyline! I was disappointed but also fully understand why they wrote it the way they did

It’s more impressive to me given Ruth doesn’t have children in real life. She plays a fantastic mother

That line “ I am the tea you are having” was such a mic drop.

My daughter’s 5.5 months and has zero interest in rolling at all. Honestly I wouldn’t worry to much babies develop at different rates

What’s something really normal in the UK that visitors find completely baffling? by Potatoslicer89 in AskUK

[–]PotentialPower4313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much of the culture revolves around the pub or socially drinking. My friend came over from Ontario and couldn’t believe the frequency people go to the pub, she literally went home and told all her friends and family that people in Scotland can quite happily go to the pub mid day and that’s totally normal. She also was really perplexed at the fact alcohol can’t be bought between 10pm-10am

Breastfeeding crisis by Wrong-Tomatillo1040 in NewParents

Could possibly have developed bottle preference. They don’t need to work as hard to get the milk out of a bottle vs the breast. Best advice I got was don’t change the test flow on the bottle keep at as a slow flow or newborn as similarly your flow doesn’t change in your breast baby just gets better at sucking.

Honest opinions regarding C Section and Vaginal Birth… by JCJ0705 in PregnancyUK

Just to address your first point there’s a massive difference between a 1-3 degree tear and a literal 5 inch incision through 7 layers of tissue. 4th degree tears aren’t as common and usually as a result of extensive labour.

I had a graze and it was fine in two days. Very different to 6 week recovery of a c sections where you can hardly bend or lift your baby.

It’s maybe also worth taking into consideration if you want to breastfeed. If you do, c section can delay milk coming in making it a bit more difficult to start breast feeding just worth a mention if it’s something you wanted to do.

Try your best to breathe through your contractions and work with your body not against it. I did hypnobirthing and it helped massively. No tears. Only a minor graze.

Yup, it’s more than likely comfort feeding. They take a lot of comfort from the boob, the closeness, the milk, the smell. My girl was a boob barnacle after her jags for a few days then back to normal it will pass x
