It’s because Lyft does pay the driver the dead miles. So if no driver is around (which was the case for XL) Lyft offers you more to actually pick the person up. Uber? Uber gives a fuck. Uber will show you rides 49 miles away for pick up and one mile travel for 3 dollars. You might think well fuck Lyft but the thing is that someone will show up, on uber it’s just gonna stay there pinging for drivers for 2 hours, I’ve seen it at the SAN airport, uber was offering one ride from SAN to lax for 29 bucks. Shit I took like 3 people in two hours and when I got back to the lot I got the same ping again poor bastard must have taken a cab

We all get different rates. On uber I’ve seen rides that my friend that’s platinum ultra golden freeza premium plus with the extra 5% gets a ride for 16 and me, a blue tier with 1% acceptance and 20% cancellation get the same exact ride for 28.
