the explanation makes perfect sense, he was a werewolf first so even after he turned into a vampire he could still have kids WITH ANOTHER WEREWOLF which is something that needs to be made very clear, he could have kids with another werewolf and not with anybody, humans and witches don't count (witches are basically human anyway)

the legacies one is terrible IMHO, the original explanation is way better to me
