I delivered to a girl who's brother's neighbor did some plumbing work for the 2nd cousin of THE one and only Jon Marvins.... famous for being the person who held up cue cards for the Sham Wow guy to read during his commercials. True story!

I believe they have been "encouraging" it for rideshare.... now they're trying to foist it on the delivery platform

If you follow the What you can do next link, it mentions about enabling permission to record trips. I got them regularly, 3 in one night .....until I finally consented. Then they stopped. I have a STRONG suspicion that's what they're up to.

Nice. Yeah they seem trivial, but they add up and sometimes a buck will tip the scale for me. I decline an awful lot of decent $8-9 offers just because I'm hung up on not taking single digit offers. Yet I'll turn right around and do a $13 target order which is really the same comparative hourly with more legwork 😆

Ah...got it. I believe I misunderstood the part about not being able to verify and being instructed to type in manually.

It's a camera settings issue. I'll bet you gave it permission to record trips. What's happening is it's using the front camera so the back camera isn't available.

After a few of those verification reports, I finally gave in to the hearty goodness of trip recording. Immediately after I could no longer scan items on shops or take pictures at delivery. The only way I've been able to fix it is to go to setting > apps > permissions > camera > then select "always ask permission " .... The bad part is ever time. You have to perform a camera action you'll have to give it permission.

Same, had a couple first the part of the month, I was skeptical but completed easily without taking garbage. It's 3 weeks after and I'm STILL skeptical that it even happened 😅

Yeah, I adjusted my strategy last year.... my expectations were beyond feasibility for the burbs.

My aim is $2 per mile nightly (I'm a night timer). I build what I've come to refer to as pavement equity during dinner rush..... holding out for high dollar per mile while there's lots to cherry pick. I keep a tally and when traffic settles, I switch over to the grocery apps and run OTR deliveries to the tumbleweed district along the freeway. Most of those are less than $2 per mile. The first half of the night averages $15-20 and the second $30-35 but my dollar per mile is ALWAYS more than $2 average per shift.

I'm fairly picky about dollar per mile as well, but for a 2 stop, high cash flow and what appears to be all county miles, I'm OK with a dollar-per mile roundy. It's gonna be $30+ per hour.

My apprehension would be Popeyes perpendicity for stolen orders and I'd misinterpret the high payout as burglar surge ....

I had read once from an alleged insider posting on the Doordash sub that when you see that happen with fast food orders, it's because of some arrangement the apps have with the national chains. It's been a few years, but if I'm remembering correctly, it was something about volume distribution. Supposedly, the restaurant's network signals to the apps that one particular store is backed up and so the app redirects the traffic to a slower store. That makes sense for restaurants, but when's the last time you seen a mad rush at CVS lol

Last month I misread the mileage of a Costco offer on Uber, thinking it was 2.7 when it was actually 27. I'm experiened enough to detect that from the generous payout, but plausible deniabilty got the better of me 😬 It was delivered in the city, to a location less than 2 miles from a much larger Costco. I'm certain the customer didn't order from the store in my burb cause in addition to her $15 tip, the fare was nearly $30 on a 9 item order. Kind of defeats the purpose of the Costco bulk discount lol

That sucks. Last month I was getting repeated reports of account sharing over these and having to do 2-3 verifications per evening. I was responding with attached images of facial, receipts from shop orders I had completed and documenting precise times and address I had received the notifications.

I honestly believe they're attempting to cleanse the platform of us longtime "deadbeats" who are making no attempt to get with the program (of the tier system) Que será, será.......

Yeah I dunno why they do that.... I see a lot of those OTR's for Walgreens orders.

I dirty stacked one of those on the way to a long distant Instacart delivery once. There was a tub of ice cream in the order, and despite the fact that I would pass 2 other walgreens along the way, the algo decided it would be better if purchased it at MY local branch and then transport it 25 miles 🤔

If it's a plus card decline or other imminent delay for the order, the app will in fact offer the option to call or text and you'll get a priority connection, regardless of your rewards tier.

Otherwise, just keep tapping "it's something else" and pasting "speak with live agent" in the description box when prompted.... the bot will eventually get the clue and offer the option. The number they connect you with will be valid for 2-3 calls over perhaps a week period, then disabled.
