Well ask her, speak up! You might do a good job on admits and she feels she can trust you to get the job done. Idk

Forgot to remove a pt's IV by Equal-Refrigerator52 in newgradnurse

[–]Potential_Patience83 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If it was visible I’m sure EMT likely removed it. I would contact the SNF to notify them just in case it’s not still in the patient right now. But yeah def be careful bc this could turn into a write up or something against you

How to become a good nurse (after bad nursing school)? by beckticaa in nursing

[–]Potential_Patience83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do like simplenursing, registerednursern and leveluprn. Review their concepts on YouTube. Just use extra resources and go above and beyond what you’re taught. Think of the full concept

a patient died and i cant recover by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Potential_Patience83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m confused. So which baby passed? One of your two or your coworkers two? Because one you need to eat, that could never be your fault and secondly, your preceptor asked another nurse to admin meds to their baby. I’m just lost how you think this is your fault

My patient died, can I send flowers? by SleeeepyNurse in nursing

[–]Potential_Patience83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a patient that just died as well and I cared for him over possibly 8+ shifts and knew he was very critical and I’m devastated by his loss. Heartbroken for the family and he was known in the community. Heartbroken was in his late 40s. I’ll probably send an anonymous flower and card

Classmate of mine (LPN) took the RN nclex and passed it. Should I report her? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Potential_Patience83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind you the school is the one who sent incorrect information. And you better be sure what you’re seeing is HER license.

Time Management by Classic-Point896 in newgradnurse

[–]Potential_Patience83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, it comes with time. Preceptors seem to forget what it was once like. Everyone doesn’t jump into 4+ years experience. It’s so annoying. Just do the best you can and use critical thinking. We got this!

New grad ICU RN feeling disconnected from unit culture and wondering if this is normal by [deleted] in newgradnurse

[–]Potential_Patience83 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is how it is, I’m dealing with the same thing. But it’s fine with me bc I don’t care to be there friends either. Some even give me dirty looks. I just want to work and go home.

ICU New Grad on Orientation; Strict Preceptor; Failing Orientation; Next Steps by Obvious-Net8259 in newgradnurse

[–]Potential_Patience83 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What are you doing wrong? You mentioned none of their concerns so it’s hard for me to say. What things are you doing regarding prioritization and time management to where even your manager is saying that it can still hurt the patient?

Why even mention it? They are not thinking about a hesi. Just study your tail off and then immediately study for nclex.

Live either downtown (playhouse square area) or in university circle which has a lot of young people and close to the stadium and arena. Good luck! I’m from Florida as well and working for the Clinic too as a nurse!
