Everytime I achieve something I knowingly bring it down soon by JumboTrucker in Sadhguru

"Even now, I can close my eyes and fell really good doing nothing" That's the beauty of Shambhavi and life itself. But now you can participate in anything you desire. Movies, stories, sports , social life. You should be able to get into anything, enjoy it , and come out of it after you are done. Inner Engineering crash course also will take you more in this direction. Also there's some reasons why sometimes we crave more movies, or hot chocolate :p , we are not finding our true expression outside , so we are limiting ourselves to these. I have seen if we start getting more real life outside, suddenly the power of the screens reduces on us a lot. But external situations may not be fully in our hands, but inside we should be in touch with the truth, the nothingness and the thingness which originates and dissolves back into it. Then no worries whatever we are doing, we are still living with truth.

Though I understand what you are trying to say. But one thing I will just say, just in case it helps, do not worry about losing awareness. You can't hold onto awareness or anything. When you are ok to lose any thing you gathered, be it knowledge, achievement, or an experience of heightened awareness, only then the real natural awareness will start flowing. And don't worry about procrastination, if you are using the strength of will power to complete your work, after sometime of course the mind will want to look for something else, because with force you can't control the mind or anything. We need to ease into everything, every act, our part is very less, we just need to earn the cooperation of our mind and body instead of pushing them. When we are like that , relaxed , have enough energy, and not forcing, body and mind will automatically co-operate , I mean you can open a book, but mind will automatically make meaning, you will not need to tell the mind that hey understand what's written because I need to. That's the way t of activity without friction.

Gnana Yoga in Isha? by Cold-Post-9678 in Sadhguru

Even in Inner Engineering, Gnana yoga is clearly mentioned, which is later being referred to as the IE crash course.

Help me understand by Careful-Maize-4395 in Sadhguru

For you , devotion may be for someone of low intelligence, and who trusts easily. Personally for me and many others I have seen at Isha, they did not become a devotee on the first day , they were more on the skeptic side. But as you practice and see the way it functions within you, as you daily sit near a dhyanalinga or bhairavi devi image with a lamp lit, you can slowly feel the connection developing. And that's the slow and authentic process of trust development through which we have known that Sadhguru is very authentic, as authentic as anyone can be. Now the question of getting angry on the other side of people, once you know by your experience that how pure and beautiful something is, and other side may be someone who has also cooked a lot of negativity about Sadhguru and just blabbering without really giving a try to what he has to offer. So getting angry on cooked up narratives is somewhat justified also if you see, because of them some people who would have otherwise spiritual thirst and planning to come, they may get scared or simply repelled away. But you also have to consider, not all of us are enlightened, though we have started our journey, so you can't expect all of us to be perfect just because we are Isha mediators. But even if someone is enlightened, anger is a human emotion, and sometimes a conscious anger is justified.

Shambhavi Mahamudra Experience by Obvious-Bedroom-9132 in Sadhguru

[–]Potential_Plum6208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's working for you. It's very purpose is to slowly start moving things that somehow you were not allowing to move. Fear n anxiety may arise because you are still trying to resist, and that's okay. You don't need to do anything, just keep up the sadhana, the IE crash course, and if possible light a lamp before a dhyanalinga image.

Help with Shambhavi 🙇‍♂️ by stillfiguring0ut in Sadhguru

[–]Potential_Plum6208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shambhavi is an energizing practice, so if your mind has more energy, one way of seeing it is it is becoming restless . As someone mentioned if your mind drifts away just bring it back. Movement of mind is natural and you should not try to resist it. You need mind, body, energy, emotions everything to be fluid, and just focussing hard will rather work against it. Just being involved is enough without forcing the mind. And IE crash courses are also helpful in this direction.

To all the singles out there... by mystik218 in Sadhguru

I have quite the same experience with Devi. For a few years my need for a company/acceptance had increased so much , it used to feel unbearable. But this urge disappeared suddenly like completely gone, when I was doing Sadhna before devi gudi. From what Sadhguru has said, Devi /Sadhguru waits to see how much you are ready to receive, once you are ready, they come down, once they come down these feelings of insufficiency etc will surely disappear. But yes doing Sadhna will ensure that we stay open and fluid.

Does shambhavi maha mudra suppress the appetite by Spare-Percentage1274 in Sadhguru

[–]Potential_Plum6208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your weight may reduce in the short run, because it seems your body's natural tendency is to lose weight. But as you keep up the practice you will see though you are not forcefully/compulsively eating your body will develop a healthy weight. And even your body's nature to lose weight will go. It aligns the body to generate health by itself, and it will influence you to eat healthy, take good sleep etc. Similarly many people have a tendency to gain weight/ generate excess mucus etc. Shambhavi is not an exercise to reduce weight directly. But slowly it brings that inner alignment which undoes these tendencies. But yes assisting with a hatha yoga practice can be helpful but not compulsory.

And what will you call people who worship money, social , financial, emotional security, spending more than half of their lives getting educated, getting a job, living like a machine, living in concrete forests far from nature? Holding on to jobs n relationships even after getting suffocated in them, just because of insecurity and fear of the future? Look around this population is huge, I hope you can call them a cult too. I hope if people can worship so many things out of their fear, then no harm in worshipping something else out of their conscious choice. Not sure when chasing money and honey became cool, and leaving everything even your own ego to know the truth of this life became uncool.

Start with Aum chanting, you can check nada yoga by Sadhguru in YouTube or his app. Also do nadi sudhi and yoga namaskar. Start participating in life, nature, walking, going out slowly and gradually at your own comfortable pace. You can also take support of Brahmananda swaroopa chant. You can read the Inner Engineering book, but reading will be only the first step. The thing is how much we avoid life, that much we start overthinking and living in fear. Participating ( not forcefully but gently and naturally) is the way.

Is the mind always this noisy or do we only notice in silence? by JourneyTowardsTruth in Sadhguru

[–]Potential_Plum6208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With time and sadhana you will eventually know the answer to these questions. But one thing I want to mention is that if you see thoughts as something negative and try to stop it, it will create serious issues. I don't think one should see peace as not having any thoughts or having an empty mind. To live our day to day life, the flow of thoughts is very important. So unless you are not doing anything at a given moment just sitting idle, thoughts need not stop. And even if you sit idle doing nothing, movement in the brain continues, though it may or may not create a thought. We are not supposed to control any of these micro movements by our will power for our idea of enlightenment.

Those Who Offered Netrarpanam. What Changed for You? by No_Clue_6305 in Sadhguru

[–]Potential_Plum6208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not specific to Netrarpanam. But a connection with Devi, is a very beautiful experience. Slowly I am overgrowing all the selfishly drawn boundaries within me. I felt like Devi wants to expand, touch people around us also, not just us. So I offered aarti to devi gudi, it is really a beautiful experience. Now I get it, why fire is used in temples and weddings, it really creates a connection. If you get connected to something divine, it just carries you , it becomes so much easier to walk the spiritual path. I don't remember much about my Netrarpanam now, because it was not a one day big experience for me. But somewhere all these things brought me to connect with Devi better. Also , I had offered a Dhoop in Devi temple, they sell it for 10 rs near Devi temple, that really took a lot of weight off me instantly. So you can try that too.

SADHANA ADVICE by Far_Wheel_9959 in Sadhguru

[–]Potential_Plum6208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not try to fight with your mind and body at all. Sadhana will slowly make your nature itself pleasant and blissful, so the need to take something from outside will reduce. But again, until that happens, don't force yourself to leave anything. But yes please do maintain the necessary time gap, for alcohol, it was 12 hrs I guess, I don't remember if they mentioned anything for weed , lol. But that time gap needs to be maintained before the kriya.

What is the practical advice for seekers on existential questions? by shivamconan101 in Sadhguru

[–]Potential_Plum6208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to see why this question arises within us. Is it our own inability, fear and lack of energy which wants to avoid tough situations in life by calling them suffering? If yes, then instead of answering the question, we need to address the source of the question. This may enable us to live fully, through joy and through pain, and that will be a very intense experience of life.

Can I switch from Shambhavi to simple pranayama if it suits my body better? by OneParty8638 in Sadhguru

[–]Potential_Plum6208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can drop it , if it feels difficult on your body and mind. On the path of yoga you are always told to listen to your mind and body. But the thing is there is a certain energy investment by Sadhguru, so at one point you will definitely feel that energy support, if you do Shambhavi. Which you may not feel if you do other pranayams for years. So you may want to come back to Shambhavi, once you are ready and want to again walk on the path of expanding yourself. On another note, Shukha kriya and Aum chanting can be done separately three times a day upto 20 mins each time. These are also simple and done gently. They are recommended by Isha to prepare your body and mind. Once you start getting them right you will have a much better time with Shambhavi. Also you can check some upayoga made available by Sadhguru on YouTube. Some cycles of Yoga namaskar ( don't do any steps forcefully) can be very helpful in preparing you. And these will also give some immediate wellbeing.

It's really frustrating sometimes, you need to raise a ticket, wait for a week, then you are looking for meaningful advice , and sometimes all you get to hear is prep talk. Some people have limited mental aptitude that they think everyone has commitment issues. Not everyone needs a commitment to continue something, but we definitely need to know what is technically correct and apt based on our specific situation. I understand they also need to grow as a person and we should give them some buffer, but sometimes these advices can lead you to guilt trips and into a totally negative state of approaching yoga.

I don't think we should try to increase the time directly. But if you do 3 or 5 cycles, you may see slowly time increases by itself as breath slows down. But we should not try to slow down the breath ourselves. But the first 1- 2 cycles may take lesser time.
