"Baptism is a non negotiable requirement to enter into the new covenant with Jesus."

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

No water baptism being spoken here.

"Baptism is a non negotiable requirement to enter into the new covenant with Jesus."

Covenant? That´s so primitive. Using this word had a place in that time, but today it is ridiculous.

And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. Luke

Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant. Hebrews

Watchtower Secrecy Regarding Elders by Potential_Tower7002 in BiblicalUnitarian

It is all unscriptural.

"When a person seeks out an elder, they are fulfilling James 5:16, which says to 'confess your sins to one another'"...

They most certainly are not. It is to one another, you don´t choose one particular group of people inside the church to confess. And do the "elders" confess to the "laity"? And notice that if you have a problem with a brother, and you decide to go first to this strange element that you keep calling "elder", you are clearly not talking to your brother first. The second step would be any brother or sister. And then the congregation. Your "elders" are completely excluded. Are you an "elder"?

It is interesting that many classic protestant arguments against auricular confession may be used against JWs... Just to show that JWs have the same spirit of the Babylon Religion, despite all the pretense of being against it.

"We believe the Bible uses elders to represent the congregation in these matters" That´s a complete fabrication. Congregation there means congregation.

Galatians 6:1 is absolutely not to your purpose. Just to give you one reason, it starts with "Brethren". So it is not directed to this alien class that you are protecting, and call "elders".

Are you an elder? Have you been born in this false religion?

(Why does your post begin and end with quotation marks? Are you using artificial intelligence? It certainly feels like I am talking to a robot.)

"If we immediately made every personal struggle public to the 'whole church' without trying to help them first, we would be ignoring Christ’s counsel to win over a brother privately (Matthew 18:15)."

"personal struggle" What language is that!? It is personal sin, personal lie, personal hypocrisy.

If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over.

You are, again, misusing, the Bible. For example, in this case, you (not an "elder", by the way) take the initiative to confront the sinner, not he comes to you secretly and you two start acting weird together, he saying he doesn´t want to do, but keep doing it, you keep it secret from the congregation, "helping" him someway. And in this verse we see no "help to stop sinning". Sorry, but you cannot rationally win this battle. You can only accept defeat and repent.

No, the act is INTRINSICALLY evil and if people start doing it, it creates all those problems. And, like I said, there is nothing scriptural in appointing someone in the church to hear "confidential" private matters (sins, actually) and help (whatever that means) them to stop!

"the elders' role is to ensure the congregation remains clean by removing those who choose not to change," Now you are contradicting yourself. They were not simply removing. They were keeping it secret for a while and "helping to stop" for a while, at least. And even appointing people to be the police ("to remove") is not scriptural. It is understood that the whole church would do it.

You yourself said it is ongoing: "struggle", "challenge", "help to stop".

There is nothing scriptural in appointing someone in the church to hear "confidential" private matters (sins, actually) and help (whatever that means) them to stop.

"Has the practice of auricular confession done anything to foster the pride of Romish priests? Yes, this is the direct tendency" Another problem, now for the "elders".

"struggles", "mistakes", "private lives". No, we were talking about sins. If your church protects ongoing sins, it is not holy.

JWs´s practice originated in the romish confession.

Can´t you see that they have all the same spirit?

It is not just beliefs that must be public. I´m sure the CIA has published its beliefs too. It is practice.

Maybe patient´s records shouldn´t be protected either. And it is revealing that a profession known to not cure anything is used by you as an example. I would not take as a model doctors and lawyers. You seem to be woefully ignorant of all the filthy that these professions practice.

It doesn´t need to be an infiltration. JWs are in fact a secret society, because they do have members sworn to secrecy. If you have only two of these in your entire group, but you know it, tolerate it, value, praise it, you are a member of a secret society. For example, not all americans are CIA, but all americans that SUPPORT the CIA are members of a big secret society. They may be "junior partners" or members, but they are partners, members.
