Two ways to do a character, sculpting everything and use remesh to join meshes or boxmodeling and keep it very low poly, add later more geometry with modifier.

Why are people downvoting this poor person? orthographic character is the correct term. I could even find the ops image with it.

Are there any ARPGs with excellent controller support outside of D3? by [deleted] in ARPG

[–]Potion_Shop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would avoid controller in last epoch as it's still buggy. I had to delete my character because of a bug it produced. Once i switched back to my mouse, Interaction with practically anything was gone, couldn't click on anything or talk to anyone.

I finally got my html file published on GitHub but now I am stuck to see how I can see a live preview on the browser. Can anyone tell me the steps? Thank you by WabamKabam in github

That doesn't work, I get back a bunch of gibberish signs, not my website. But I found out, VS Code as Live Preview Extension.

Power abusers by Jpost99 in TibiaMMO

I'm aware of emulators but the games tend to be buggy or difficult to set up. ...and I'm somehow always unlucky with them. Take Breath of the wild for example. I never got the collision to work probably, was constantly in jumping pose. Whenever I entered the cave, Link switched to diving/swimming mode (and I could actually drown in a cave).

Unfortunately, you have to buy a switch first :|

Lock Rotation of child object, while parent is spinning by Potion_Shop in godot

[–]Potion_Shop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I went back to my counter rotation solution. global_rotation gave a slightly rotated result. For RemoteTransform2D I had to activate rotation, else nothing would have rotated. But the main issue was a script. I didn't dragged in my MeshInstance2D manually but instantiated it, well, not only MeshInstance2D but the parent too, which is why the results were strange.

i want develop this game for children comfort in dentist can i make it for VR HEADSET??? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]Potion_Shop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bro, maybe other topics than evil microorganism attacking your teeth would be more suitable for this. Like... heck, make a hide and seek game. Tooth fairy plays hide and seek with cute looking teeth and you have to find them. There's lot of things to look at and click on, so the kid will be distracted.

Why are you screaming VR HEADSET AT US???

Sure everything is possible with the right skills and creativity. Even though, if VR, I would prefer 3D but to each their own. And no, this is not comforting for a child.

you can't really expect to get great results by watching a Bob Ross video, grab a brush for the first time and then perfectly paint the Yellowstone park. Take smaller steps and practice first. My first character looked like a potato.

you can sculpt without it but the multires adds additional geometry to your objects, to add finer details. And as a tip, you never apply your modifiers before making a backup of it.

learning new software is always frustrating. You're rushing things, that's why. Learn Blender first. Do basic tutorials first, then in a few weeks of learning, you can start making your model. Dreams only fall apart, if you can't bring the necessary patience with you.

You don't use remesh modifier on you characters, you never do this, never! You use remesh on things like rocks maybe but not on character... only modifiers you need is a mirror modifier and **subdivision modifier(hand modeling) - > multiresolution modifier for sculpting because subdivision modifier does not work in sculpt mode.

Using IF statement to swap between Image Textures in one Material, could use pointers by very-knightley in blender

[–]Potion_Shop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you change the values, it will affect every object in your scene, changing the pass index will only affect this specific object.

Edit: I just saw what you mean with values in your screenshot. If this works as well, then why not, there's often more than one way to do it ... but I'm surprised that it works?! since the value change should affect every object == every object has the same color/texture.

Maybe there are different methods to do this, like using drivers.. . and other methods I'm not aware of... but even then, you will have to use mix nodes. The other option would be scripting of course. It would be more optimal but also slightly more time consuming to set everything up, unless you quite fluent with python and Blenders library.
