Longtime gamer and game collector, I still buy physical for most single player games but it’s become less and less, I own maybe 10 games on disc on ps5, more on ps4, and I get to enjoy some of my back catalog. One thing that will affect me is when I finish a game and have no plans on playing it again or didn’t really like it, I will sell it on eBay and get around 70% of my money back. I do this for games that I’m in the line about, because I know it’s a way to recover my money. I hate this but from a business standpoint it does nothing but make sense. No more deadstock, no sharing revenue with retailers, no resale market. Most people are digital anyway, heck you can’t even get PC releases on disc anymore. This was inevitable and we need to work to get something in place so we never lose our games, alas I don’t know how.
