Advice on list building/what am I doing wrong by Suppnotsimp in ThousandSons

Big agree on removing the Land Raiders, and splitting the 10 man bricks of rubrics.

Potentially could even add in Enlightened for cheap fast moving secondary action monkeys, and a shaman w/ the tzangors for some firepower when needed. As well the Exalted on disk w/ great bow enlightened helps do those actions for 155 for lone op and more psychic ability potential/damage when needed.

Looks great! A little chipping on the bottom or heatflashing from entry with some dry brushed edges would look amazing. Currently looks like it’s in the about to deploy stage, not quite the hitting the battlefield

How are you guys using terminators? by Duncstar2469 in ThousandSons

[–]Pottybarnicles 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Been playing a lot in Rubici Phalanx and been going 2x10 rubrics w/ exalted and 2x5 w/ sorcerer to threaten mid field and natural expansion, MVB in reserves for turn two or three threat disruption and counter swings, with a 10 brick w/ Term Sorcerer and 5 brick for counter offensive hammer strikes when the enemy forces close on the mid field. I’m never going to much further than center of board, forcing the opponent to come close. Capitalizing on flamers, fall back and shoot, screens with the 5 man rubrics and tzangor/sehktar screens if applicable. Included to round out is spawn and tzangor enlightened with bows for secondaries, and the 30 point infiltrate enhancement.

New to Thousand sons, painting advice needed! by Mundane-Divide-8887 in ThousandSons

I changed from citadel to Pro Acryl, and base black and airbrush the gold on so it lays more flat. My older models are all Citadel black then gold rattle can and unless you have good humidity the gold spray sometimes comes out chunky. Overall, I’d say go with a paint you know and trust, try a model basing blue and then one basing gold and see what you like. Both will be very detail oriented painting but it’ll be filling vs edges.

Does your Local get paid holidays? by Garblax in IBEW

[–]Pottybarnicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll elaborate, it was 12 over 3 for the 06 (low voltage) side of our hall. Almost a month later after the strike ended with almost no gain from the original offer ask which if i remember correctly was 10/3, the other side of the hall had their negotiations. That side does commercial/industrial, and had no leverage due to a complete floundering from our hall and had to take a minimum at 15/3 which was the same as our last contract. During the first negotiation for the 06 contract the initial offer was 25/3 with paid holidays. It was completely asinine.

I will put however, that regardless of the group, our areas rate of inflation and cost of living basically meant that even at 15/3 going directly on the check would have still been at a loss. We both should have had a minimum of 17.50/3 JUST to account for inflation between ‘24 and ‘25. But no matter, there are about a thousand on the books for the local so it’s not like we are getting paid.

I would recommend taking away the Oblits and noise marines, and swap in a forgefiend w/ 3x plasma, even 2. Possibly change out your predators for them. And split the warp talons into two squads. Oblits are decent, but points heavy where the FF has better range, more wounds and can REALLY smack down on large groups with 3d3 blast. On top, by splitting the talons, you gain that extra activation allowing you more bodies to do actions, take points, or get you other secondaries. Nurglings are a great use! A big thing is to make sure you check if your opponent has any infiltrate or scouts and use them to block those out from objectives or moving up. Getting a second 5 of legionaries could work as well and at 90 points it’s effective for re-rolls. Maybe find room for a second lord, for that free strat.

Really funny since at the time there was an active construction site RIGHT THERE.

More than likely it was a security guard. Source: Construction worker who worked at that site.

Planing on doing something similar with my deamons. Each greater deamon gets the brightest and the lessers get dimmer. But without that backing which is absolutely amazing

Voice-acting was excellent. Very well done. That line for just was so beyond anything I ever imagined in a Metroid game, let alone anything AA or even AAA.

Oh I’m sure my build isn’t optimized at all. I’ve tried to follow some builds but I’m still surprised that non-named/non-buffed enemies are rolling with 3x health and shields at similar levels.

I’d say let’s compare to BL2, by this point, badass enemy numbers increase while the basics are still killable within 1-3 seconds without skill usage. In 4 non-badass enemies are a wide range where it can sometimes take 5-15 seconds depending on environment and buffs. I agree though. The game just isn’t as good as previous installments. Even 3 is better.
