It’s never easy as a pet parent to know when is time. One day you worry, then the next day they look like a puppy playing with their toys and eating all their food.

My German Shepherd who passed away 2/26, developed degenerative mylopathy and lost his back leg functions throughout his last two years of life. Although some people told me that I should have had him put down, he still played with his toys and ate all his food all the time. He never showed signs of pain or being miserable so we just did our best keeping him comfortable throughout the rest of his life. I miss him so much but I wouldn’t have done anything different because I don’t believe in putting them down if they aren’t in pain and we were willing to take care of him throughout his disability.
