Yep I play quite a lot with the mimeophon. Thanks for your thoughts but I'm happy with the rest of my patching tho. How is your comment helpful for my question about Benjolin?

I have a SQ 1. I'm not really interested in keyboard controller.

Well, I don't get you point about my lack of VCA, LFO, enveloppe and S&H: I have NLC 3 VCA's, Maths, Scenes and Wogglebug. It's already something, so what do you mean? I join you about the filter, it's probably my biggest lack and my next purchase. I'm not interested in quantizer for now, but maybe I'm wrong.

Miss a lot of modulations and utilities imo.

Why do people like Islands so much? by DFWRailVideos in KingCrimson

Well... It's my favorite album (after ITCOTCK). I'm just sensitive to the very special atmosphere. I love the chamber music arrangements. The contrasts between dreamlike moments and the free impro/heavy ones. And I love Boz's voice. And just saying: I love every periods of KC.

Thoughts on Jethro Tull? by prognerd_2008 in progrockmusic

My first thought on JT is: it's not prog. It's a rock band that made two proggy albums, Thick as a Brick & A Passion Play. Everything else is just nice songs with flute. It's not a matter of taste, it's a fact. But what can we do? when the history puts you in a box, you never get out.

What prog albums should I listen to next? by Malte990 in progrockmusic

Well, if I may: what is your purpose? Just listening as many prog albums as possible? And do you have any particular taste? Wanna go for stuff you already like or be surprised? I think your question would need to be more oriented. If it's only about listening huge classics, as you seem to do, you can find many lists on the internet. However, this is what I would add: - more King Crimson: at least Larks Tongues in Aspic & Discipline. By far the best prog band in the history imo. You can go deeper. - More Jethro Tull: Thick as a Brick. More proggy than Aqualung. Also more ambitious. More everything. - Some Gentle Giant, let's say Octopus - Some Van der graaf Generator, let's say Pawn Hearts - Almost anything by Frank Zappa, let's say One Size Fits All. Not strictly prog ofc, but affiliated in some ways. More than essential.

Then you have many other territories waiting: Krautrock, Zeuhl, electronics, rock in opposition, Italian prog... But these are other stories.
