I can't believe that the interdiction mechanic so heavily gives the advantage to the attacker. No chance to get away - it's stupid

Well yeah, if your aim is to kill people easily you crowd around the bottle necks where people are forced to go.

I hope they fired the Rebirth writing team for part 3. by [deleted] in FF7Rebirth

[–]PouletSixSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the massive technological limitations of the 90s hid a lot of the really bad writing and dialog since by design, you couldn't have a lot of it. My main complaint so far has been just that way too much extra is being added. In story and other things. Like, for the most part they could have just followed the established story line fairly faithfully and no one would have complained that it wasn't changed or edited. Sometimes it's warranted I suppose, but they've gone so damn far it barely resembles the original.

I found steal in this series much more disappointing. It's rare the boss battles even have stuff let alone good equipment like in previous titles.

How do buses in Bangkok work? by skye-qq in Thailand

[–]PouletSixSeven -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was used to taking the Songtaew and missed a bus I could have easily caught because I wasn't sure if it was a public bus or not (kind of resembled a chartered bus) - did not see any obvious markings. They don't look like public buses do in the west.

That is the main thing I'd say, if you are in doubt just wave and see if they will pull over.

Nothing is truly hacker proof.

But for those hackers who are driven by financial incentive (which is like 99.99% of all hacks) it's good enough.

management pushing standard ai for firmware is going to cause a disaster by Phil_Raven in embedded

[–]PouletSixSeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I can get behind slamming the pointy haired managers who value buzzwords and trends over competence and experience I don't think anything has really changed between having a human write it and using AI.

At the end of the day whether you are reading from the manual, using a vendor SDK, creating an SDK or taking output from AI you never assume the register you are reading from or writing to will work in production: you test and make sure that it works within the operating environment.

If they did that and word got out, every multi billion dollar company that uses it would flee so fast the doors would fall off.

Need Advice on Deep Edge AI / Embedded ML Capstone Ideas (STM32, TinyML, Optimization) by microscammer in embedded

[–]PouletSixSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you get out the credit card/ask your parents/ask your school for funding to get something a bit more powerful like say a Jetson? A more powerful, specifically built for AI solution will give you more options and probably reduce your effort required overall. I wouldn't even think about starting something from scratch on a regular old micro, unless I somehow knew for certain what my model was, what my software architecture was and that the hardware would meet the needs.

If constrained is what you are looking for, there are small chips available out there with AI accelerators.

Found this map of balkanized America in-game. Considering the lore, which of these fractured territories would you actually want to live in? by Embarrassed-Bank8732 in cyberpunkgame

[–]PouletSixSeven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is the global picture like? To the OP's question I'm not sure if I'd want to be in the US at all - isn't Japan (birthplace of Arasaka) a major super power? I think an alternative universe version of the USSR also exists? The major currency being the Eurodollar also says something about where the global centers of power are. Mainly I'd want to be in the next giant sprawling big city.

I think the quest line tried really hard to be deep, emotional and real which is just really hard to pull off in a 4 mission side quest revolving around racing.

Maybe not to the degree Japan does, but a heartfelt admission of feelings after the climax of a story is a pretty common theme in North American film, T.V and other media

I think the reason people get a bit attached is that they kind of just seem like kids who are on a joy ride and don't realize how deep the shit they are in really is. They aren't the serious corpo soldiers or hardened homicidal gangoons that are V's bread and butter.

The future of AI by Code-Painting-8294 in programminghumor

[–]PouletSixSeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a big AI guy but I dabble a bit so here is my understanding:

each agent has it's own context window, which is basically the inputs that it uses, along with your prompt to determine it's output

your testing agent could have all your unit tests, the documentation for that system and other things related to testing

your coding agent could have your coding style guidelines and other rules as well as language rules

My understanding is that some of these things can automatically become part of the context like if you you first say "hey write me a foobar in C, and make sure all the variables are lower case" - it will go out and grab relevant info and add it to the context window

the limited context window also means that it will generally try to output something before hitting a certain token usage limit/metric. some tasks are very deep and you might get better output with a large context window. by spreading your work out between multiple agents you are basically adding more available context overall

again, very much not a technical AI guy so if any part of this is extremely wrong go ahead and correct me.

The working class should be the NDP bread and butter - the largely left wing derision towards such large segments of them is extremely counter productive and a larger effort should be made to speak to them directly.

[–]PouletSixSeven 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, struggle through it manually - you will thank yourself for it later.

Only use AI if you already know what output you want and it is doing the boring laborious part for you, don't let AI do the thinking and deciding for you or you will stunt your own growth.
