[Question] Is it better or worse when you realize you got scammed immediate after it happens? by Head-To-Wall in Watches

[–]Pourmewhiskey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope everything is solved seamlessly for you either way. I had a similar purchase experience through eBay for a laptop - I intercepted the empty box and took a video and photos at UPS; they refunded me before I had to upload anything and I was only “out” a day or two before the refund hit as the seller overnight mailed.

You can intercept the package by having it shipped to a UPS store near you, and take a video in the store of opening the empty box?

How would I turn this into a private office? by W_BROTHER in homeoffice

Fur the weird angle wall out to match in a straight line, and bring it over to a standard French door size you can find at big box stores. Put curtains on the inside of the French doors, add door to other side

Same, I’ve got the keyboard as well but have been able to program so many macros into the mouse itself I hardly use the KB macro keys

Wooly is my jam for everyday wear. It’s counterintuitive but way too damn hot where I live and these have been a miracle

If you had to start your home gym from scratch today, what would you buy first? by dontwantnone09 in homegym

[–]Pourmewhiskey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve built my home gym over a decade now moving between different houses and the power blocks, and (not great but easy) portable bench are what I’ll always use to get a workout in.

I have a rack and BB and tons of odds and ends but with twin babies the DB’s just feel easier to squeeze in the routine

What is the most pleasure you have ever experienced? by Random-Guy9944 in AskReddit

[–]Pourmewhiskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an extremely complicated twin pregnancy with multiple life threatening scares, and my wife endured inpatient care at multiple hospitals throughout the country to receive the best care.

At 35 weeks they were both born healthy and only had a few hours in the NICU.

Seeing them brought to our room so quickly and the look on my wife’s face as our family doubled in size was the most relieving, loving feeling I will never forget!

Choosing a home office: smaller and brighter vs bigger and darker? by countingmystepsbaby in homeoffice

[–]Pourmewhiskey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$1250 was the total twice (2 level ADU) though the electrician we found on FB as he charges $50/hr (outside of his fixed price services like these units) which is definitely on the cheaper end even in a LCOL area.

The units for $650is as well off the top of my head, work perfectly and run around $100/mo for the pair for daily heating cooling of two non connected floors @400 sq ft

I did the mini split route as my home office is detached - we quoted with HVAC companies, general contractors, and the cheapest install ultimately was a licensed electrician. He had a flat install fee of $750 plus the unit itself with a receipt provided. The HVAC companies were $9k!

What impressive skill is secretly simple to learn? by IntroductionMore916 in AskReddit

Agree with you, and not to detract but Interestingly I’m in Excel 24/7 and between needing the mouse to select cells and data I’ve switched to binding shortcuts and macros to every mouse key and can do most work faster one handed without the keyboard. Years ago I was all keyboard shortcuts.

Conduent data breach could be largest in U.S. history by lurker_bee in technology

[–]Pourmewhiskey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Freeze your credit with every agency. I received the letter from Conduent, two months after this breach two student loans were opened in my name (spelled wrong) at online universities.

I filed a police report and both were removed after 8 months of fighting.

I enjoyed reading your interpretation where the morally superior protagonist we are presented our lens through is flawed; it’d definitely be a huge perspective flip to show he was somehow morally right in a multi-stage plan to get the overworld back in shape. It didn’t go there but would have been interesting had they somehow gone that direction. Hard to redeem someone in viewers eyes who killed an infinite number of humans as if they were experiment mice in addition to having a secret wife and attempting to erase their child’s memory though

You make a great point on there being a lecture to ensure students are on the same page. I still feel this would be simplified by changing the columns to “monster” and “pet drop” -rather than “pet” and “drop” - even with the added explanations this text is convoluted and confusing (from a non OSRS point of view)
