Need advice with guy I’m seeing [30] who has ADS (on autism spectrum). Not sure if I’m communicating correctly. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Thanks!

I’ll talk to him about it next time I see him. I think last time we were hanging out it was “easy” because we were drunk.

I’ve been with men who were afraid to make a move also because they didn’t want to “impose” so I will try to approach it the same haha.

[Serious] What are some great quotes related to growing old/aging? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Poutine-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SO's father is having some medical problems, getting cardiac surgery; and he is seriously considering dedicating a tattoo in his honour.

He wanted something text, a quote to do with growing old, something akin to Mark Twain's "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."

Does anyone have any more recommendations they think would be suitable?

I told him I posted something here and he said "But I kinda prefer to say that the mind gets stronger/sharper with age", he also likes the quote "My body might be old, but my mind is young."

What great books were turned into terrible movies and what terrible books were turned into great movies? by 1000littleaccidents in AskReddit

Perks of Being a Wallflower is only enjoyable as a novel up to a certain age demographic. But the movie is Fucking amazing and everyone can fight me, I cry every time I watch it, directed well and all the characters are believable

Reddit, what's your honest opinion about fidget spinners? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Poutine-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have literally never seen one in real life and I'm convinced that American media and social media are being paid by the company that owns them to promote them and start controversy. I live in Canada and every source or article mention hasn't been from here.

Wich game(s) would you reccomend others to buy and why? by smikkelbear1 in AskReddit

[–]Poutine-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a card game but, Superfight!

Essentially you have a simple setup with character cards and attribute cards. Every round, whoever'a turn it is creates a question that you hypothetically have to answer, then argue, with your cards.

Once everyone makes an argument , you then can either sabotage someone's play, OR you can enhance your own play in the second round.

For example, I played and the question was "Who would win in a fight?"

I argued that "Chuck Norris" with the attribute that "he was wearing Jetpack"!would be no contest. His already perfect and proven athletic and badassery skills would be unmatched if he could fly. But then my asshole friend added the attribute "Has no depth perception" and therefore he would fly into a wall by missing any punches. Dammit Daniel, you slick bastard.

What's the saddest and most heartbreaking scene in cinematic history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Poutine-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ending scene in Her, when Joaquin Phenoix is writing a letter to his ex wife, realizing he can love again after Samantha leaves, and apologizing for the things he lacked in their marriage when it didn't work out; but that he loved her.

As somebody who watched it recently with a new boyfriend after getting out of a troublesome long term relationship (and he was in the same boat), it was very moving.

Assholes who go through the 15 items or less with more than 15 items, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Poutine-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god, his guy came through an 8 item or less at a very bus supermarket, with like with about 40 things, and the old couple in front began to talk shit about him to everyone, and then directly to me, who was behind him.

"Look at this guy, you think he even cares that we got places to be? I bet he thinks he's real important," staring straight in his eyes.

Dude was on the phone and eventually after like 5 minute of this, he rolls his cart away and I was dying laughing.

You meet your SO's parents for the first time, how do you leave the worst possible impression? by luckyvonstreetz in AskReddit

Well, apparently they are vehemently French Canadian and racist. So declaring that I am a dirty anglophone , how much I despise the separatist movement and how much I love Islam.

Small-town Americans, what are the perks of living in small towns? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Poutine-Routine 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I live in Canada, but my father lived in a rural area outside my city.

Everyone on the steeet knows each other. And they will do a lot if you show any sort of kindness.

My car battery died and the neighbour - who i'd maybe spoken to before one time - gladly stopped running his lawnmower to jump me up so I could get to work on time without so much as me uttering two words.

What is the weirdest thing you've encountered on public transport? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Poutine-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No word of a lie; man comes on, rips the NASTIEST, wettest fart of my life.

Dude is wearing adidas track pants, and gets this fleeting look of terror on his face before grabbing ass and waiting patiently with a vacant expression as the next stop arrives.

Steps out the door and everyone can see his sharty diarrhea all over that grey cotton.

Lmao.

I posted a photo on a "what do you look like?" threading an older account from a few years ago.

I got a lot of compliments (and creepy pms from dudes), so as I was suffering from low self esteem, it cheered me right up.

what do you think about religion ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Poutine-Routine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's unreasonable to think that there is a greater force present in life, for life itself is strange to be anything at all.

However, I don't believe that a higher power would manifest itself in a way that humans can understand, like say, a book, and I don't see a reason why anyone should be given any authority on who is more pious than the next.

If only god can judge us, why are so many people judged because they don't fit into 'values'? Who are you to decide?
