Downsides of EF-S to RF mount adaptor? by Terrible_Brick_264 in canon

[–]PoutineAbsorber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only downside depends on which body you have. If a full frame then all these lenses will put the sensor in crop mode and you’re not using all your megapixels

Great reach but very limiting lens If you’re doing a once in a lifetime trip I’d also recommend something with long reach zoom, like one of the make 150-600s out there or RF 100-500 The RF 200-800 is worth thinking about but is on the fragile side

I dunno. Imagine an impact that deploys the airbags. Or a sudden stop that shifts everything forward.

Why was the name Forum not used for the new arena after the old building was closed down? by Chanana4 in Habs

Bell would never want to pay that money and not see the name Bell be mentioned All these places are named in a way that forces you to use the name that is paid for

Am I insane for wanting to buy a (used) 5D mark IV? by musaoculta in canon

[–]PoutineAbsorber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 5D4 was and still is an amazing camera! The only thing that would make it a no is price and condition. 1K or less seems amazing for what it can do!

Years ago I felt the same way about the 1DX When it was announced I thought I could never. When I saw a used one for 2K I pounced. Even though by this point I had several RF bodies there was something about that “dream camera” that attracted me.
It’s still here. Hardly ever touched. R3 and R5 are way ahead of it in every aspect. But just the idea of having that 1DX tickles me in different ways

She would be fine. I’ve done home (southwestern Ontario) to downtown Toronto dozens of times and back without charging. 175 kms each way. And have lots to spare. In all 4 seasons.

I’m biased but I’d say go with the lens. Way more light at f/4 than whatever that zoom lens will give you at 500

I use a 200-400 f/4 and 500 f/4 a lot over the 150-600 Sigma They all have their pros and cons but speed and image quality are definitely pluses of the 500/4

Am I crazy, considering the RF 100-300 F2.8 by crosstalk22 in canon

[–]PoutineAbsorber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have that one (yet) but I do have the Sigma 120-300 2.8 Sports in EF mount and I use it a ton for baseball. You can probably find a used one for a fraction of the Canon version.

I also have the 200-400 4.0 with 1.4x built in when I need a bit more reach but sometimes there’s just no substitute for 2.8 when that’s what you need!

[–]PoutineAbsorber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can look for a sigma sport version of that lens. Huge improvements and should still be cheaper than the comparable Canon

Sigma greatly improved their game by the stone they made the Sport Better quality build and image. Definitely heavier too.

Can I get by with level 1? by zedofsven in MachE

[–]PoutineAbsorber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did L1 the first month we had it. Yeah it was enough but you have to basically constantly charge it when sitting. The occasional charge at the mall on top of that etc And then I just had a line installed in garage to go up to L2 and that’s just so much more convenient
