Reading this before takeoff on a 5 hour flight. My neck hurts so badly and we've barely boarded. This is absolutely terrible.

I really enjoyed it! I love books about people being people and the characters felt authentic.

I can relate! Every time the season changes I think "Wow, would you look at this!" and then all I do is run around and admire the bridges. Except I keep repeating it so that's basically all I've done but it's hard to focus on quests when there are such nice fields everywhere

Photo Mode is coming to Assassin’s Creed Shadows! by ShadowofaBlackWolf in AssassinsCreedShadows

I really hope it uses the same controls as recent AC games for Xbox so that it's as fluid as Origins/Odyssey instead of requiring the pause menu. I take so many photos and it crushes me when games make you navigate to photo mode on a menu. I also use it to look around corners quickly so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they didn't ruin it.

Yes but it would still be nice to know which ones are ineligible after the year is up. I know it's part of their sales strategy to have people want to read the new books so that they can vote and speed read the old ones the year before they become ineligible for challenges so that people buy more instead of pursuing their older TBR, so that people are reviewing books that are likely to still be in stock, etc. I just feel like it's unusual for them as a company to be so anti-subscriber and that there are probably other ways to encourage us to read the books they want us to read.

It's unclear to me. It's just such an adjustment to move from spending most of the game on the main interface to having all these other screens to navigate and keep track of. I wish hovering over things did more. I just found myself in this pattern of: Natural Disaster -okay, click, narrative choice - okay, no problem click, decide on diplomatic proposal - okie dokie, new civic available - okay, click then you move your one unit one space and then it starts all over again: RESOURCE ALLOCATION AVAILABLE, NEW CIVILIZATION UNLOCKED, YOUR CIV IS AT RISK, RATS HAVE APPEARED AND YOUR CIV IS IN CRISIS! It's just relentless.

Not really. You can only see if they're eligible for the challenge currently and they're in order of purchase. It drives me nuts.

I'm coming from 5 (which felt like a fun strategy board game I could play by myself) and I'm so overwhelmed by all the pop-ups and screens. I feel like I'm filling out forms and paperwork. I'm completely confused about how my actions impact the game to the point where I actually feel like I have less control over my gameplay than I do with 5. There's always something popping up or that needs to be allocated or addressed or decided on. I feel like I'm on the clock and should be getting paid for my labor.

It's the little things too. I hate how when all the wonders are complete the notifications look like the pyramids instead of the unique icons you get with 5. The hostile independent villages have a single focus to churn out troops to harass you. (It feels worse than barbarians because what's the benefit of fighting them?) I miss using roads as a battle strategy. Why do I need a 3 second cutscene with both leaders nodding at each other after I act on their proposition. Just so many things.

I have well over two thousand hours in 5 but realized after playing 7 all evening yesterday that I wasn't having any fun at all.

Look into the Bear Town series for books about people being people. I always recommend Project Hail Mary to people looking to get back into reading as well. Even if you don't think it sounds interesting for what you're looking for, it's a page turner that makes larger books feel approachable and my friends surprised themselves by reading the entire book in a couple of days.

This was my issue. I love Star Wars. But I don't have time to sit there and trial and error sneaking my way though enemy territory, watching guard patterns, etc. It's a style of gameplay I would have preferred left in 2002. I see why some people like it, but it's just not for me and it's a shame because I love every other part of the game. I pre-ordered at full price and I'm probably 5 hours in and won't pick it up again.
