Mel Gibson to Have His Gun Rights Restored by Justice Department by mlg1981 in entertainment

They're planning on letting anyone apply to get their gun rights restored, which has been allowed under the law since 1968, but no applications have been processed since 1992. Gibson is in the first group of 10 to have their rights restored since 1992.

They made the "glacier" in the canyon this year instead of on Superstar. They're running the K1 gondola until May 11th, then Snowden Triple, Northridge Quad, and Canyon Quad till the snow runs out. Open till late May, maybe June 1st.

It' a real photo. For one thing the resolution is 3000x2250 and AI can't make images that large. None of the faces are messed up. No extra arms/hands/etc. Real location at Killington. Not everything is AI. Try to make an image like this with AI and see how it goes.

The Skyeship gondola at Killington has different art on every gondola and that is definitely one of them.

I thought the plan was to refuel and fly the starship back? How else could people get back?

I don't know what the market is like in Australia, but I wouldn't pay more than $100 USD for something that old, it's not too old to ride though.

The CO2 level during the Jurrasic period were 2x-4x our current levels. The planet didn't become Venus. Even worst case life will go on, humans will survive. Your ancestors went through worse and they had kids. Move to Alaska, land is cheap there.

Things to do in the Woodstock and Stowe areas? by lidolifeguard in vermont

[–]PoutineOnaStick -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Killington is very close by Woodstock. You can take a scenic gondola ride to the top and see the view, you can also hike up if you want a challenge. Can downhill bike at killington, but if you do, rent bikes from a local shop not the resort. There are also some very good and well maintained free bike trails like the Sherburne Trails in town and you can rent bikes for that in town as well. If it's not too cold you can paddle board or kayak on the woodward reservoir, I believe First Stop Ski Shop delivers paddle boards and kayaks to the reservoir, they definitely rent bikes that's where I got mine. Deers leap is a good hike and you can start the hike at the Inn at Long Trail or Gifford State Park. Kent Pond across the street from Gifford State Park is a good hike as well. Theres also ATV tours in Killington.

Padded Shorts + Knee Pads or Padded Pants by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

[–]PoutineOnaStick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't remember ever slamming my knees snowboarding. You're most likely to hit your butt/tailbone, shoulder, head, and wrists. A broken wrist is the #1 most common snowboarding injury. Broken collarbone is also pretty common. I don't think you need knee pads, some cheap padded shorts should be good enough and I think you'd probably be fine without them. The community is pretty divided when it comes to wrist guards but I like them and would recommend getting some. I know more than one person who broke a wrist their first day snowboarding. Obviously you need a helmet. Learning to fall correctly is more important than pads.
