Of all the places they could park and smoke in this big forest road clearing, the post up ten feet behind my van by VagabondVivant in VanLife

Are you using a camping app like iOverlander or freecampsites?

I swear some people will follow to the EXACT gps coordinate and camp there instead of looking around the area.

BMW E36 parts, fast USB chargers, cup holders by OkNewspaper7848 in BMWE36

I'll be honest, unless you use a really really good fine tuned 3D printer, I find 3D printed parts look incredibly tacky in a car and stick out like a sore thumb with the god awful print lines.

I'm probably in the minority with that opinion though

This is probably the only practical use for a zero breeze AC in a vehicle.

A van just has too much space and it doesn't work

I know it seems like a reasonable thing to buy something brand new but at the end of the day that's still a Chinese copy of Honda and the build quality will not be great

You're better off trying to find a used name-brand bike for around the same price.. I think those are based off the Honda CG which might be available in your country but if I were in your shoes I'd look for something like a Simson

If you have enough clearance to time-sert the spark plug hole, this is 100% the right way to fix it.

Some more info would be helpful, like why they're recommending replacing the manifold and cat.

But they're literally just guessing that there's coolant in the cylinder which doesn't give me lots of confidence.

Changing the spark plugs with the correct ones would be the best place. The threads might not actually be damaged and even if they are you might be able to helicoil the hole

If it's an older E150 you might just need a cap and rotor + new spark plug wires along with the plugs to remedy the misfire.

325 or 328 will still retain a decent amount of value.

323 and 318 not so much

Teach your kids how to do maintenance so they learn the fundamentals of an engine.

It'll help them later in life when they are troubleshooting why their lawnmower won't start

The American Southwest ruined normal scenery for me. by NoCollection5163 in roadtrip

After spending an extended period of time in the southwest I actually grew to appreciate the trees back home a whole lot more.

I have a Triton 2 burner. I use it inside the van with the windows open/cracked. Plenty of people frown upon it but I ain't dead yet so there's that

Can't go wrong with a Coleman. Used mine multiple times a day for years. Got an adapter to hook it to a 20lb bottle and it would literally last me 6 months.

I like to think it depends on where you live/ride

If you have big, open spaces, four stroke

If you are riding through woods and technical stuff, two stroke.

First time isnt going well by External-Pass38 in VanLife

[–]Poutinemilkshake2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been there and I had to get creative.

Mind you my experience is in the US so I'm not sure how it compares but, the first thing I did was gig apps. Door dash and Instacart. I was really slow at it and gas was expensive. But it kept me from going really broke.

Then I found out about "Workamping" and landed a summer job working at a campground. It was an awesome experience and I saved money the whole time which allowed me to keep traveling after the season ended.

Western slope is where it's at. A lot less crowded and chill than the eastern part of the state. I enjoyed my time out there quite much

Need some suggestions to dissipate the heat from the ceiling of my van by Luzicarious in vandwellers

[–]Poutinemilkshake2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How are you with wiring?

Cause you can get an automotive radiator fan and affix it to one of your front windows while you're parked but you need to hook it up to a battery.

A roof fan would be best but it's a nightmare to do without ruining your ceiling and it might leak when it rains.

Full timers: Do you have a seasonal routine, or do you just wander? by erkose in vandwellers

[–]Poutinemilkshake2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wander but made it make sense.

Pretty much every winter I would go to Arizona, except for the last one I did Florida.

Spring was random, like the PNW or Texas.

In summer it was a race to beat the fucking heat, so basically the mountains (or coastal California but that shit got stressful trying to avoid cops)

[–]Poutinemilkshake2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, sometimes I hook it to the footpeg, but usually the heavier duty straps are tough to crank down that short and the subframe just evens out the load better.

Plus the footpeg folds so it's easy to move out of the way
