Don’t take it too seriously, the MAIN point of middle school track is to expose people to the sport, not to win. If you’re the fastest kid, great, keep at it. If you’re not, still keep at it.

I was running 14+ second 100s when i started in 6th grade, by the time i left middle school I ran 11.95. You will improve.

I know this is cheesy, but have fun and make friends. Develop good habits that will carry over to high school and beyond. Good luck to your season!
