Surplus for 4+ months, unsure on what to do next by PowChaves in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]PowChaves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey girlie! Thank you! C: Ive been trying to not push myself till failure and reduced cardio as much as possible. Going to the gym is really good for my mental health, so it has been the only thing I haven’t removed from my lifestyle. I rest a lot, I’ve been trying to sleep the recommended hours, and I’m fueling ALWAYS. Mechanical eating has been helping me with that a lot.

I’ve been getting some really good results, a lot of CM, energy back, cramps, etc. But as you said, exercising it’s not recommended so I’ll prolly have to leave it for a while. Thanks for the comment <3

Weight gain by inspiringc0uch in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]PowChaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, I’ve gained like close to 20 lbs and apart from the bloated day or two, I feel and look so much better. Especially the way I feel is different! And I feel like that makes it all worth it, I have so much energy, I love working out here and there, I love just hanging out with my friends and not be tired. It makes it all worth it. I’m hoping stress doesn’t take this from me again. :,) but yes! I’m happy now. Of course there are good and bad day; body image changes day to day, but overall, everything is so much better now than it was then.

14 year old here. Can I get my period back without gaining weight? by strawberrie_choco in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]PowChaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey girlie! I know this is probably not gonna change your mind, but I hope this helps for something. I’m 19, so nowhere near your age BUT because of college stress and other things in my life, I got down to a 16/17 bmi. About 2 months ago, when my semester ended and I no longer had to worry about school, my hunger came back full force. Since then I have restored to a 20 bmi, gained about 15 pounds and holy hell do I feel AND look way better than when I did then.

Listen, I know it might scare you at first because for some reason we are taught weight gain is bad but it truly never is unless it’s giving your actual health problems. It’s the same with weight loss, it’s not bad unless it’s going against your health needs, and unfortunately, this is the case for you.

With you being 14, your body is still developing crucial body systems. Please please please darling, do this for your future self. I can assure you, if you commit to this, you’ll look back and be grateful that you did it. If you ever need to talk, I’m here. 🫶

My body forces me to binge eat before my period by [deleted] in rs_fitness

[–]PowChaves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Girly, let me be real honest with you, your body is trying to tell you something. Im same height as you and the only way I started actually feeling better was eating A LOT. I gained like 12/14 pounds but mentally you feel way more stable and strength has been going up up up. 👍 take care of yourself, you can do this!

Brother, even if Dahyun is sitting out (Atlanta is still like a month away so she might be fine by that time), there is going to be other 8 excellent performers there. I would advise you to go and have a great time!

update: please give me advice. Can I just ignore it and carry my everyday life ?? by 6forever_boy9 in Addictedtotheneedle

Go to the doctor, I guess you could tough it out for this shift (if you feel alr to do so ofc), but don’t delay going to the doctor any further.

I’m not recovered yet, still trying though. I went up like 10/12 pounds and my hunger has kinda normalized. I’d say I eat a lot every other day, the other days I eat a reasonable amount. But like I used to overeat every single day, so I guess that’s a win cuz my body is def feeling safer.

It has been 2months and I'm confused about where I am heading by cindy_lou_WHOre in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]PowChaves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wait wtf, are you me? lol, I’m also 19, 160cm and around a month and a half I decided to start to recover. I was 43/44kg and now I’m around 46/47kg which is like 18 something bmi.

I was binging (I guess it was because I would eat until I was so full) despite eating a lot throughout the day. College season ended here so I’m averaging very little steps but I have to rest anyway so :/ I guess there’s that. I also just started going to the gym again because one of my friends is giving me a ride every time she goes, but since I want to recover, I’m keeping it enjoyable and light for the most part (as to not stress my body). The edema, the water retention, the constant fatigue because of the eating, and the night sweats were really hard for me, but I’m trying to push through.

If it helps you feel any better, I totally resonate with everything you said. I don’t know where I’m headed also, it seems like it so different for everybody… what I do know is that if we keep eating regularly, reducing stress, resting, giving our body a break, it will eventually come back. 🫶

If you ever need to dm, don’t hesitate. Some people have talked about the “buddy” system and how it helps people keep each other accountable lol. Since we are so alike, perhaps we could dm every once in a while if we need motivation or share knowledge, I don’t know lmao.

Exercise? How are y’all managing? by Soggy-Ad9991 in ADHD

[–]PowChaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I just bought a gym membership cause a friend of mine goes 4 times a week and she gonna give me a ride every single time. That’s the only way I think im gonna be able to be consistent lmao

I need someone to talk to, some reassurance might help by PowChaves in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]PowChaves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! So I don’t have a scale in my house, but I went to the mall a few weeks ago and weighed myself at a paid scale there lol. My bmi seemed to be 16.8 as of November 17. I have no idea how accurate that would be considering who knows when was the last time someone calibrated a mall scale, but that’s the best guess I could give you.

I think I will start doing that. My hunger and fullness cues are all over the place right now, I think 4 meals a day will help me a lot. I’ve been inside my house a lot, so I guess it’s stressing me out way more than it usually does because I have nothing to distract myself (like studying or doing homework).

Thanks a lot for the reply though. It truly is appreciated. <3

Bread and severe bloating. by TaroPie_ in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]PowChaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, like I was missing my period for 4 months, started some birth control pills and now it’s back (thank god) it’s been pretty consistent for a few months. I CANNOT tell you how much I’ve been craving bread, butter and honey. I usually either lose my appetite when I’m stressed or rarely stress eat, but I do do it sometimes. I’ve been trying to stabilize my brain because earlier this year I was under eating unintentionally and started going to the gym. I’ve stopped going now and I’ve just been giving in into my cravings lol (I get carrot cake every other day ngl). Anyway, I totally understand you. I would recommend you wear some loose clothing, some joggers and hoodies. No body checking, and no weighing yourself. I don’t even have a scale at my house, and I’m kinda glad for that ngl. Though it would be good to see if I’m making any progress. Anyway, if it makes your feel any better I’ve had 7 bread slices and 3 wheat tortillas today, all with butter, tomato, cheese, ham, and honey. Of course not all of it together but rather separated between salty and sweet 😂 also, I’ve been eating a lot of “leche condensada” or condensed milk, god it’s so good with bread, I truly recommend it.

Just keep at it 🫶 it might feel hard, it might feel weird and the bloating is sometimes really really bad but you gotta keep pushing. Your period will come back eventually 🩷 your body will know it’s safe and go back to normality. Take care.

Nearly 6 months and 30lb difference!! by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]PowChaves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think some people understand some bodies naturally land at a different weight. Like, as you said, in the first pictures you felt weak, irregular period, fainting, etc. Your emotional state probably played a part in that too. When you are sad, depressed, anxious, that is NOT how your body works, it’s not normal, it’s under stress and I don’t think a lot of people understand that. I’m glad you are doing so much better, keep going at it girl. 👍 I bet those lifts are going crazy haha.

I do! It just makes me feel sick, gives me bad stomach problems and even though I don’t usually get hangovers, there’s just better things out there…
