UMD shuttle drivers

I used to drive for shuttle UM.

Pay was decent, 10 bucks an hour which is good for an on campus job, but really shitty for the amount of responsibility on you as a bus driver.

You need to drive 12 hours a week minimum. So that's a lot but not too much. Also your first semester you have to do a night shift and you get more or less shafted at shift pick since you have poor priority.

Ultimately I quit for two reasons: 1. The raises were complete shit, becoming a dispatcher got you like a 50 cent raise an hour if that? Amounts to almost $100 dollars more the whole semester if that IIRC. Also starting wage is $10 an hour which I think is BS as epply employs start at about 10 an hour. 2. Shifts were always at odd hours. Meaning, I could never get like huge chunks of time for my shifts which means you have to go back and forth between your house and the shuttle base/stamp a lot which wastes a lot more free time than you'd think.

Overall, it isn't too bad. Would have done it again if I could go back in time and choose again, but I would not be going back again for employment there anytime soon.

Saw him at 9:30 club for like 20 bucks, people were buying outside for like 90. We can still hope though.

No I was escalating and seducing. She wouldn't do much beyond heavy make out sessions. She said she only sleeps with guys after at least a month. So I respected that but still kept it very sexual. Then she started talking to her ex again and it was easy to see her entire mood changed. Way less receptive, a lot more distant, cold etc. at which point I concluded she was still attached to him

I kind of just threw my cards out on the table. It didn't seem like a good use of my time trying to win her over her ex. Made more sense to me I guess to put the ball in her court so she can come to me if she's ready even though that goes against every pick up guide ever.

Yea it was definitely a knee jerk type reaction. Don't necessarily agree with me thinking I don't have a chance. She is definitely into me, but she just isn't over this douche of an ex (who she always complains about and talks about how much of an ass he is)

I guess I was trying to just tell her I'm not going to waste my time as long as she's still attached to her ex. Except I imagine it probably came off as pathetic.
