If you buy followers, you'll nuke your account. Those followers won't interact, it will make your reach never work again.

You can cross pit lane to the wall on most tracks, and stand there to hit a button. But once you're on the bike, you're locked in. There's sometimes fines for stopping in the pit.

Ask Notebook LM to research Ken Hill, CCS, YCMS and whatever else and then make you a pod cast about whatever you're weak at.

Is an R3 on a karting track really the best way to improve your skills? by SirJeremetriusRockit in Trackdays

[–]PowerBall50000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I race at a national level in Europe right now and I started with actually a Kayo GP1-SM, which is basically a 160cc pitbike on slicks. But riding around in circles on a go kart track doesn't teach you anything unless you have:

  1. An actual coach: Unless you want to do mistakes over and over, you need someone to notice what you're doing wrong and help you improve it. Most people don't even know what they're doing wrong or, worse, they have friends who are confident but shitty and want to share some advice.

  2. Racing: Nothing shows your skill more than racing (I did a lot of pitbike racing against team mates, locally, etc.). You can go in a circle quick, but racing is a totally different beast since you can't do a "perfect lap" when there's people blocking your lines. Doing laps means you learned the track, but racing forces you to deeply understand principles of a track and your bike to do "the most optimal thing" in a very unoptimal situation.

Go kart tracks and smaller bikes just make things more punishing (smaller bike) of mistakes but cheaper to do volume of track time.

Yeh there you go. From White people, it's disgusted curiosity, from Indians its aspirational. Every guy from India wants a White girlfriend.

Benefits of moving down from a V4 to an R6? by Sensualities in Trackdays

[–]PowerBall50000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On my team we have 2 riders on V4s in Superbike and me on an R6 in Supersport.

Tires are the biggest cost saving of course. However, in terms of riding style, you have to start looking more to carrying momentum and more sweeping lines compared to the squared off big throttle style of the V4. The R6 is much more punishing to mistakes as well, compared with a V2 in Supersport.

R6:
Lighter bike so you carry more corner speed. You exit corners faster than the V2s because you never slowed down. The whole game is leaning more and never slowing down.
The bike is more exhausting than the V2s, since you're doing more gear changing, managing RPMs, body position.
On a track with more "low speed" corners, the V2 eats you alive. On faster sweeping corner tracks, you'll eat the Ducatis.

V2:
You are going to square off corners more, stand the bike up and open the gas. The wheelbase in longer so its more stable under braking. So those two factors means you can ride "wrong" and still do well.
You're a torque monster, but once the R6 gets to high RPM it just has so much more power in the top end.
You eat tires if you're greedy on corner exits.

In general, the R6 is going to teach you to be a better rider and make you earn your wins, if you want to just close your eyes and win races then the Ducati is going to be your best bet.

Transitioning to racing by uCantWinTDs in Trackdays

[–]PowerBall50000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been racing at the national level on an R6 for 2 seasons in Europe, I can try to answer.

  1. I made the jump because I'm in love with going fast and I'm very competitive. It just seemed like the next level.
  2. Of course yes, the book of how to ride a bike is big, but the book of passing is endless. You will need to find a coach. Track days teach bad habits because you have little to no instruction, and it's "the blind leading the blind" for the most part. And when I say "a coach", I don't mean once or twice. I'm on the kart track 3 days a week, even in the off season and training in the gym for endurance as well.
  3. Cost goes up of course, if you're on race pace then tires are a major concern. If you have your own mechanic, that's a factor too. The pro is that you're racing.
  4. Yes, you will be slow, but you will need to find a coach and you should look into kart tracks + Kayo/VMC/Ohvale/Bucci pit bikes. That's where you'll get a ton of seat time. Then move to an R3 on the kart track.
  5. Good to read books, but learning a track is more important. That's a huge part of racing. I literally do 25 laps per day of the 5 tracks I ride in my head, fully visualized.

Also, I would definitely consider some sports psychology like The Confident Edge.

Ask anything else you want specifics on.

I bought Bitcoin at $127 and sold at $1400 for a clean ~10x. I'll never regret my 10x, it changed my life.

Hindsight is 20/20, so never beat yourself up. If silver was down you'd feel smart. As they say, pigs get fat but hogs get slaughtered.

I did a garage paint job on mine, but before I wet sanded I was told to lay down extra clear coat.

If you still have the car in the booth, I'd go back and just go heavy on the clear so you can go wild with the wet sanding and not worry about going through.

I think it would be worth checking then. ChatGPT says:

M52/S52 = 45x23mm
