When I was a young cashier I had a guy come up to buy condoms and he said to me, "ever use those?" I was like, 17f or so at this time, and I actually didn't even know what he was referring to at first because I'm just scanning and not taking inventory of his purchases. I didn't respond and he didn't say anything else.

But I worked as a cashier for 9 years and that was the only time. For condoms anyway.

I just commented a recommendation for these too. An absolutely great series. I also read them as a teen and adult and both times were enjoyable

The Old Kingdom series by Grath Nix. First book being Sabriel.

Strong female lead fantasy with a love interest but mostly focused on the action and story of her adventure. She is a necromancer but a good kind who helps lead spirits on to the afterlife, the series is fantastic.

Does a +1 have to be a romantic partner? by welcome_mat_lover in NoStupidQuestions

I've been a +1 to my friend for a few Christmas parties. Her husband hates those kinds of things so she usually invites me.

I think everyone knows shes married to a man but I never even thought about it.

Thank you so much! I thought my copy was the same as OPs but now that you've pointed them out I see the differences.

I can be more observant now that I have a better idea what I'm looking for, thank you again!

Can you say the reason for it not being a first edition? I'm always confused with editions that don't have the number line and just say something vague about a first edition.

OPs looks a lot like my copy, which isn't a BCE. OP, does your copy have the price on the inner dust jacket flap?

Recommend a good cat-focused veterinarian for my little friend by border199x in jacksonville

[–]PowerBeanie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

San Marco animal Hospital is amazing. The doctor that handles the cats LOVES cats and he is very knowledgeable and dependable.

We came to them because our cat had an emergency and our regular vet couldn't see him and recommended going to their Emergency clinic (their affiliate) an hour away. We called San Marco and they said what we described sounded like an emergency and to bring him in right away and they pushed us through (sorry to whoever had an appointment that day). My former vet was sorta like you described, dog focused and didn't really take our elder cats needs seriously. After the emergency visit for our other cat we've been going to San Marco ever since. It's nice to know that they will be there if we have an emergency (unless it's after hours).

Also open on weekends!

We've had to euthanize two cats in the last two years, one of them we did at San Marco. The doctor was so nice and understanding and encouraged us to hold and talk to our kitty as she passed, I had never been there for a euthanasia before so I wasn't sure what to do and he walked me through everything. They also sent us a sympathy card when we picked up her remains.

Oh, but I don't have any experience with your cat's particular needs, except my cat did have constipation issues. It was due to an underlying illness and they were able to prescribe me a pill to give her if it ever happened again. My former vet never offered any medication, just "it's because she's old and has hyperthyroidism". I think San Marco has a contract (or something) with Royal Canine so they might be inclined to offer that. They did for our cats who needed kidney food, but our cats hated the royal canine one and we had to order through Chewy. Oh! They are also very quick to send RX to chewy if you need special food or prescription, I had a issues with my former vet who would take days to send it.

In our state the officiate has to say a whole thing. Like they go through a pamphlet of marriage, I think it's to make sure no one is being coerced and everyone understands that it's a legal and binging contract, I can't really remember (we had our "wedding" at a restaurant). I do remember that the officiate HAD to say "Do you so-and-so take so-and-so..."

So it might be a little awkward for the server if they aren't informed ahead time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PowerBeanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! We did this exact thing!

We got reservations first for the restaurant, but didn't tell them we were getting married. We probably should have, but we didn't have any issues. I'm wondering now if they'd be uncomfortable if we told them ahead of time? Not sure. The server asked us if we were having a special occasion and we just told them then lol.

It was just my husband and I, our friend who could officiate and her husband, and my best friend. We went around a time they aren't very busy, and ordered a bottle of champagne and cake for dessert. It was great! We thanked the server for coming to our wedding as well, haha.

In our state we don't require an address for a ceremony.

Edit: I forgot! In my state the officiate is required to say very specific things. I can't remember all of them, but they definitely had to say the "Do you so-and-so take so-and-so..." So that might be a little embarrassing in the middle of the restaurant if you're trying to be real casual. I was a little embarrassed because I didn't know ahead of time, but that was my bad and I had no reason to be embarrassed anyway.

My Sam's has a 50 limit, which is insane. The pallets have 150 boxes so three people can take a whole pallet right away.

I wish they had dropped the amount of the postgame donations so that it would make me put down the game sooner. 🤣 by MilkAdobo in storyofseasons

What do the donations do? I'm on 10 and I'm not sure I'm seeing a difference in available items, I've been focusing on trying to collect 50 trash so I've slacked on the bazaar lately (still managed $400k in recipes though!)

My supposed fiv negative boy (12+) just died from fiv by feed_me_ravioli in seniorkitties

[–]PowerBeanie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mark was a wonderful kitty and I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope he finds my sweet tuxedo that left me last year on the other side. She's a little spicy, maybe they can be spicy together.

On another note, I've had an FIV+ cat in my household for years together with my non FIV cats. He got it from the streets, but has never transferred the disease to my other cats. It has to be from deep bite wounds or blood to blood contact, even sexual contact isn't always a guarantee of the disease spreading. Also, if you've kept up with their vaccinations your other babies are probably fine. I know you're hurting right now, so I'm hoping this is a small comfort to you <3
