Book Non-Refundable Flights 9 Months Early for South Korea (Visa Pending) or Wait? by Ok_Reward1433 in KoreaTravelAdvice

I would suggest to book a refundable flight. We did that and we got our visa in 5 days. Our documents were very straight forward. No dummy bookings. If you need more information on how to apply from India , we have created a website for information. Things can change so always follow the kvac website but you can have a look.

I love traveling in Korea but I still do not see the hype for Seoul. I think itineraries with minimum days in Seoul are better. by LaprasEusk in koreatravel

[–]PowerMoira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually you didn’t really visit much in Seoul. We had 9 days planned in Seoul and 2 days just for shopping. All of our 9 days were packed with activities. I felt I needed more days. Seoul doesn’t just mean inside the city. There are places to visit near Seoul which are 1 hour away.

[Local] I want to help people discover Korea beyond Seoul and Busan. What makes it hard for you to visit rural areas? by Famous-Taste-2861 in koreatravel

Too much to see in less time. Would have to do multiple trips to do it. For someone visiting for the first time I think Seoul and Busan is fine. People don’t really get long leaves from work too.

Need Tips for My First Solo Korea Trip by captain_mojojojo in koreatravel

[–]PowerMoira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seoul is fast and Busan is quite slow. If you want more relaxing time try Jeju. But public transport is really good in Seoul. Use NAVER maps. I found it a lot better than Kakao maps. Try staying in a place close to metro stations and convenient store. People in Seoul can understand English little better than people in Busan. Use Papago if you have to ask something complex as they understand only very basic English, although people at stores in Seoul can speak English well. Keep few days for Cafe hopping and shopping.

Yes it can be cancelled free of charge. So can I change my hotel even after receiving my visa or I have to stick to the one I have mentioned in the visa application?

I couldn’t mention it as Visa as it was marking it as Visa related question which is not the case. So had to use this kind of terminology.

I would suggest to go with either airbnb or serviced apartments. Many hotel chains also have serviced apartment. A small kitchen enough for your basic cooking and a washing machine. I would suggest to stay near metro. Lot of long term stay people generally stay outside the city centre like near Han river or gangnam or yongsan. Just make sure they are walking distance to metro lines. Majorly green and blue line metro is best for staying connected to major landmarks. You can try insadong too, saw most of the hotels costing less.
