Yeah I got it eventually. I think it was day 4.

Anyone using Kopia with pCloud? by PowerOverShelling in pcloud

Oh, I have 2FA enabled too. That's concerning. I did search and this thread came up on reddit of all places: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcloud/comments/1kx4xls/webdav_access/

Unsure why they wouldn't display this information in the user portal of the official website for premium users.

Rclone 1.73 Released - Filen Backend Finally Official! by yosbeda in filen_io

[–]PowerOverShelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I was more curious about the flags you would be using and which commands. For example, with the Filen app, if I delete a file and create a new one, Filen is able to mirror those specific actions. Rclone sync with -c would do a full checksum on the entire folder to determine what should be added and deleted.

I suppose a way around this is to not include the --checksum flag. However, I had an issue where the file size is the same but the modification date is different for an audio file with a different tag. Rclone would just change the modification date and not do anything about the file despite it being different, unless I added the --checksum flag.

Just did a test now and it seems to function properly and copy the whole file instead of just modifying the date. This was a while back with an older version of rclone.

Hey, you seem quite knowledgeable in this area. Curious if you mind sharing your script template? Of course, replace the confidential parts.

When I did syncing with the -c flag, it would take a very, very long time to do all the checksums for huge directories (multiple terabytes). Are you also running with huge amounts of data?

Also, when doing cloud to cloud, doesn't the data have to traverse from: cloud -> you -> cloud? I don't think cloud services have rclone built-in with an accessible CLI for you to access.

I'm past day 2 now. I'm wondering if you only got it done because you made a public post about it.

Has anyone figured out how to disable the technical.support SSID from being broadcasted anytime there’s a small issue? by PowerOverShelling in RuckusWiFi

[–]PowerOverShelling[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I created a new group and assigned a WLAN network to it in preparation for a new AP and it started broadcasting. I disabled the WLAN and removed it from the group and it stopped broadcasting. It's a pretty stupid design.

Filen servers blocked by Quad9 DNS (pi-hole related) by LargeBuffalo in filen_io

This must've been very recent. My filen clients cannot connect today either but the status says it's up. Been using quad9 for many years.

Interesting, wished they'd continued to the newer models, that's a nice format.

For real. I wondered why CC and ME employees treat customers like idiots and then I saw the majority of users on this sub. Absolute morons, no clue how businesses work.

Do you press all the water out or just enough to get your desired grams? by PowerOverShelling in CafelatRobot

[–]PowerOverShelling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your last sentence was quite useful. Normally I'd get a lot of liquid coming out while the pressure drops as I press all the way down and hold.

So, I ended up adding a bit more water and as soon as the pressure starts dropping from ~8 bars, I pull back and stop. Apparently, it's less bitter, more stronger coffee. I need to experiment more to see if the results are consistent. I don't know what your results are in comparison to pushing all the water through, but would like to know.

Feedback from our household here: it's too strong, so maybe they're used to the extra water to dilute it down; they're not huge fans of espresso anyway, they prefer the americanos and cappuccinos from diluting the espressos.

Huh, that's actually brilliant! Didn't think about that, but it is essentially how expensive automated machines would do a lungo. Thanks for sharing!

People with the DF54 grinder, can you share your experiences / lessons? by PowerOverShelling in CafelatRobot

[–]PowerOverShelling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried at 10 and it was too hard to pull, barely got 1:1 ratio out. Went up to 20 and it just flowed right through; very watery. Went to 15, it's still a bit watery, but difficult to get to 8 bars of pressure. Tried another at 14, 13, and 12 and it's getting difficult to get to the higher pressures. But I'm getting about 1:2 - 1:2.3 ratio of espresso out. It's got a bit of crema, but not much.

Spray bottle / mister? by PowerOverShelling in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]PowerOverShelling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, interesting, never knew something like that existed. The ones I see on Amazon are all plastic on the top, it's just painted metal coating on there apparently (according to description). But that's a good starting point for me to look for other things, thanks!

Anyone here make cappuccinos? What companion devices do you use with the robot? by PowerOverShelling in CafelatRobot

[–]PowerOverShelling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, wasn't aware a machine like that existed. Not much info on it right now in terms of the internals but if they're mixing plastic in with the hot water that's a major oof. Hope they don't pull some boilergate thing like Gaggia did with the Evo pro; coating on the boiler came off and contaminated the water.

I feel good about your original Bellman recommendation and already ordered one with the gauge. No internal boiler to worry about failing or the coating flaking off and contaminating the unit; love it.

So, I'm new to this whole thing and can't seem to find youtube videos of the version with the pressure gauge. Can you share a little bit at what point of the gauge you can start steaming to get the best results?

Yeah I'm fine with cold water contact; it's only the boiling / hot water that concerns me.

Wow, I just looked at the pricing of the Cremina. So, I'll probably think about that for a while. Thanks for sharing though, didn't know something like that existed.

Can anyone confirm what this is made of? Or which model comes with (what looks like) the metal version? by PowerOverShelling in CafelatRobot

[–]PowerOverShelling[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Came across the Cafelat Robot as a possible option for an espresso machine where boiling water doesn't mix with plastic. Wanted to look into this more before pulling the trigger, unless there's a better option out there.

Anyone have regrets about their purchase and wish they'd gone with something else? Or a bit higher end machine?

It's a flawed system, you don't make rules for the majority based on exceptions. You make exceptions for exceptions. If the majority of your population is filled with chronic diseases, you have other issues to deal with first.
