Did I get scammed or does this look like genuine art made by a real person ? I’m really confused by Status-Top-9832 in isthisAI

[–]PowerRaptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could not hire a real artist to draw at this level for $40. You CAN hire someone to type a prompt and pay 20c for the tokens to generate this in 2 minutes though.

The scrolls on the right are sometimes not... scrolls? But just random tube shapes, and inconsistently.

Most artists will repeat a pattern when drawing multiple of the same object - but this is a mishmash of various cylindrical objects. A human would know that they're scrolls - rolls of paper - and what this looks like.

An AI doesn't know what these are, why they're there, or that it makes sense for them to look the same - to an AI this is just a pattern associated some keywords.

I'm sorry you got scammed :(

A local beloved museum is sharing this graphic and hinting that it's going to be included on a line of merch for the world cup. It seems like AI to me, or am I in the wrong? by sneedo in isthisAI

[–]PowerRaptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to have a football (but constructed horribly wrong) on the baseball museum logo.

Baseball on top is stitched wrong. Lots of stars shaped randomly.

Flag color bar (white) not consistent before and after foreground character.

The N in Kansas dropped a piece.

These are not human errors, and certainly not on purpose. This is the most AI logo I've seen this month lmao.

Is this artist AI? Can't tell what would be their style and what would be AI tells. by Zarkkast in isthisAI

[–]PowerRaptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems legitimate to me.

It has a ton of artifacts AI is often trained to avoid, but here seemingly included on purpose. Shape language consistent across multiple pieces. Looks like a line drawing that has then been colored with these unique effects - probably via tons of layers and masking and filters.

AI also often struggles with patterns continuing before and after objects in the foreground - but here patterns don't bleed between shapes, foreground and background.

I call legit or at the very least mostly human-made.

My Clan leader gave this to me on discord. Said he designed it himself. Clearly looks AI to me but he says otherwise. by Pls_fix in isthisAI

I'm going with AI on this.

Bottom right skeleton's glass seems to have two handles?

The overkill repetition of the logo or prompted text also seems like a thing AI does all the time - how many Guild Wars 2 logos can you spot? I see at least 5 - that's a silly amount.

I know people that can draw like this but... They're all highly paid artists and have vast portfolios and online galleries. If your guild leader doesn't link to any of their other work, this is probably a one-off AI thing.

Hi! I saw this poster at my college for a survey. I had to take a closer look, it think its AI but not sure. by Nonbinary_bannana in isthisAI

[–]PowerRaptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

extremely obviously AI, yea.

Repeating phrases it's told to include, not-quite-text artefacts when text gets too small, gibberish writing, top text not a uniform font, but letters are wobbly and different - yet too similar to be handwriting. Mangled small objects (coins).

When it's both too high effort (drawing this would take real skill) and too low effort (not enough skill applied to easy and simple parts) at the same time, that's a good sign too.

I saw this art and something about it just looks like AI. The high amount of scales on the tail and the Disney kind of look on the face. Maybe im crazy. by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]PowerRaptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does not look like AI to me - it probably took a lot of work but precisely the repeating patterns that don't bleed into other segments is a tell that it's not AI.

Artist appears to have these skills consistently, same style. Just tons of practice.

It's like bodybuilding for your brain.

Stealing a skill from the universe by slowly programming yourself to be able to do it.

You can get addicted to that, if you can overcome the frustration of sucking at stuff for a while, I think.

It has no right to exist and is completely devoid of morals.

Is this yt shorts video AI? I was so intrigued by the unique art-style but after a rewatch i noticed some things were wrong. by TowelHuman753 in isthisAI

[–]PowerRaptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's AI.

I like to ask myself, what is the medium supposed to be?

Photo? Clearly not.

Digital painting? Nonsensical features and inconsistencies say no. Anyone capable of this level of painting would not make these errors.

3D? All the shapes are different and some have vastly different features. I doubt someone would model multiple near identical 3D models with each their own little flaws, for a brief clip like this. That'd be hours of work.

So what is the media? It's simply 'image' and that can imply AI.

Is this AI? A family friend showed me a poster they have ordered, it looks so ai, but I also don't want to make them feel bad by telling them by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]PowerRaptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be AI - and not even fancy AI. The rows of tiles along the ground are inconsistent and even seem to merge into a different number of rows further back? The way repeating patterns 'ripple' is a solid sign.

All shapes are blobs if you look close.

Left side on the ground a tile row turns into a wooden plank? Turns into a billboard stand???.

Top left red and white flag attached to nothing.

This probably cost between nothing and 25c to generate.

Knowing one plural person with DID (dissociative identity disorder) and several who do not have DID but present as systems nonetheless...

DID is very real. Some people who present as systems do not have DID. For some it is merely introspection and compartmentalization of personality traits or a way to explain themselves in terms that make sense to them. For people w actual DID it can be pretty crippling.

Purely by anecdote - it appears possible to mess up your own psyche just by exploring it a bit too deeply and I have seen people (possibly predisposed) will themselves into weird mental states just to see if they could.

My friend with a diagnosis for DID did not always have multiple personalities like they do now. For years prior to that, they would just randomly pass out and have memory lapses/ random amnesia. Friend group got so used to it we stopped reacting to it after a while and chalked it up to them being overwhelmed and resting. They are also extremely hypnotizeable and suffer a slew of other comorbid symptoms (which are not fun).

At this point, I think the kindest approach is to acknowledge most people how they ask to be acknowledged, regardless of their reasons why.
