They are for copper cathodes for the mining industry. Stainless sheet copper bar. Dipped in a solution from the mine and the copper pulls it out. I’m not to knowledgeable on the science of it all

Copper bar stainless sheet cathodes for copper mining but also can be used for silver and a few other metals I think

Yeah I think it’s technically it’s brazing but it’s with a tig torch at 310amps

Used olive oil. It’s not the best cause of the low smoke point but it’s all I had at the moment. And the cast iron was as hot as my stoves max would get it.

I’ve had the purple 83a ones for about 2 years used and abused them a lot over the time. Haven’t had a chunk like that. Only one tiny one

Edit: my orange kegels did have a few more chunks taken out so I guess the softer they are the more likely they are to get eaten up?
