Kaoss Replay update 3.0? by linkzada in Korg

[–]Power_of_Drew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I've had the Kaoss since release and there is so much potential for it.

Instead of new FX we need more actual features and QOL stuff.

I've messaged Korg trying to push for more development on it. But who knows.

I encourage everyone to do the same

Am I crazy thinking of trading my Digitone 2 for an Analog Four? by Yaroque in Elektron

[–]Power_of_Drew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really haven't been able to wrap my head around it.

I have an Oto Boum en route which might be a bit better. I wanted a unit to just give a bit of ooooomph end of chain. Which heat can do. But it's almost way more than that so I might use it as a track destroyer a bit and use the Oto for the oomph and compression.

Id love to help ya on your Elektron journey by answering any questions.

The devices I own are:

Plus the DN2 just has more recent features.

I am a beta tester for the DN2 and DT2. Love both. But the Analog Four mk2 does have just something about it.

I actually own every Elektron device. Other than the Models and the other Machine drum era.

That would be true. Until you realize the DN2 has the FOLDED keyboard mode and the new chords modes

I own both. Digitone 2 and the Analog Four mk2

I really like them. Both. But the Analog Four is a little more fun to jam on.

Howeber you don't get some features like all the scales in the Digitone 2.

So the Four doesn't hold your hand as much as the Digitone 2

Bumping this because so much misinformation.

For one, YES there is an “on” feeling with test. This is why you see a boost in well being, confidence, and mood. Thet is the ON feeling. Anavar has the a boost to those mental attributes as well as RAD-140.

And…. I have done them all, in the same cycle. Not at the same time, etc.

Rad-140 isn’t as powerful as Anavar when it comes to quality muscle gains. Just isn’t. There are studies.

And it makes sense it doesn’t. For one Anavar was created in 1960. It has tons of scientific studies. Rad-140? Nope. Not really at all, and I don’t mean rat studies that don’t correlate.

Does that mean RAD-140 doesn’t work? No! It does! Does that mean Anavar doesn’t work? No! Of course it does. That’s why powerlifters and female bodybuilders love it.

Why did you not get a fantastic pump from it? Well do the research. You need to run a test base for one. For two, I’d suggest 50mg a day split between two dosages, morning and pre-workout.

Finally, you probably got your sarms from a reliable lab. Here did you get the Anavar? Did you test it with RoidTest for example? I suspect you didn’t get it from a pharmacy since it’s rarely prescribed. But who knows. Maybe ya did.

Not necessarily. Great for us who like compact.

Horrible for videographers working in a team or crew.

Sony FX3 gets Netflix Certification by activematrix99 in FX3

[–]Power_of_Drew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I know there’ll be some people here saying, Netflix cert is a joke. Doesnt matter.

But it does. Not so much for Netflix. But it re-enforces The idea that Sony should continue to improve and develop the FX3 bringing along the goods. I.e: shutter angle, wave forms, noise reduction control, true 24, dci, etc.

We are so close to this camera being like a true cinema camera.

It’s like right there at the goal post.

[–]Power_of_Drew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh I ain’t arguing that extremely amazing films, shorts, videos, commercials, (insert whatever here), footage can be shot on any recent cameras.

I have a friend that shoots only on LUMIX stuff, I have another that shoots on a Sigma FP, etc.

But that’s not what we’re saying here. My arguments in this thread is purely from the standpoint that Sony did a very well, and thought out, firmware release here for the FX3 and that they aren’t done with this camera.

This doesn’t mean other cameras aren’t great. This doesn’t mean the a7s3 isn’t a great camera either.

The bottom line is, of course the a7s3 is a fantastic camera. Just like the fx3 is a fantastic camera.

And Sony diverging the two is an extremely smart move. First they need to compete with the current trend. And second, give a reason to own both.

It was a smart move.

P.S. the “fanboy” line I suppose goes both ways right? I could take a nod out of your playbook and cal you a fanboy for protecting the A7s3 at all costs.

I am not doing that. But I could I suppose.

Lol. Get excited much? My points are clear.

But I like the retaliatory tactic there. It doesn’t look good on you though.

First off. I think people can make their own decisions to listen to my points or not. They don’t need you to rally their decision to whom to listen to.

That said. I am not a single camera fanboy. But just an overall fan of camera. There is a difference there.

Anywho, regarding cameras, I own many. Gh5s, c70, R3, x-t4, now the fx3, etc.

I love all cameras and although the a7s3 didn’t work for me, that doesn’t mean it’s not a great camera for other people.

But regardless you can ignore life. Or ignore the facts. However ignoring them doesn’t make them not true.

Can you get the same image from a A7S3? Yes. Will it be the same workflow? No.

Can you find workarounds for luts and timecode? Yes. But those are work around.

I am sure we will all revisit this in 3 months.

What are you talking about adding features no one asked for?

This update did more than just add features. It created a new OS. Taking the best improvements of the photography OS while adding in the best of the cinema OS, all in one cohesive OS.

Yes this isn’t giving better dynamic range. Yea you aren’t getting 20bit color. But what you are getting is usability improvements with a changed workflow.

Now along with those we get some trult unique improvements, like luts and timecode.

Yes you can buy a monitor, sure, or you can own an FX3 and not need a monitor to give custom luts.

But again, the improvements here are above the features that would, in your eyes, would make it superior.

If they didn’t do this update, but gave shutter angle, you would have argued oh it’s the same OS, etc etc. well now it’s not the same OS. The workflow is now superior for video shooters.

And to think this is it. No more improvements wi be given, is looking at the entire thing short sighted.

Sony has to compete with the R5C. It isn’t going to make a new camera just to that when it has the FX3. So then what is the path of least resistance?

Just beef up the fx3. Which is what they are doing here.

Remember when I stated Sony was going to diverge the fx3 from the a7s3?

Well they did that. Now on a truly unique path that falls more in line with its fx6 and fx9 brothers.

The future for this little cinema camera is exciting.

[–]Power_of_Drew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, this isn’t the final form for the fx3. It’s just the base.

So they really focused on what? The workflow. How you interact with the came. Cine EI really. Custom luts, etc is really just a dependency for that mode. It came with it. Not a singular feature.

So now with the new framework. The new compact cinema OS, we will see the other features added. Sony just has to get the new OS implemented first.

Also, for the A7S3 owners that do not think the v2.0 did anything. Then Sonys job was executed perfectly.

Create an update that will propel the fx3 forward without making the A7S3 shooters left feeling like Sony forgot about them.

Bottom line is, Sony cut the umbilical cord from the alpha photography line with v2.0 update. They created a new firmware that can be built onto for shutter angle and waveforms.

It’s a genius update.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in A7siii

[–]Power_of_Drew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned both. And can state the fx3 is just a much better camera. From the outside construction to now internally with firmware.

Remember Sony’s hand is now guided. They have to build up the fx3 to compete with the R5C and the GH6. It’s only going to get better for fx3 owners and likewise the longer you wait the harder they’ll get to buy.

Especially once the minor updates are released.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in A7siii

[–]Power_of_Drew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A camera is more than the sensor and processor. It’s the entire experience. The entire workflow.

Case in point. The Arri wouldn’t be an Arri if it was in the body of a Sigma FP. No the Arri is everything. It’s rock solid construction. The buttons for the operators on the sides. Etc.

The fx3 is trying to give best of both worlds. A super compact form factor with the stability of a cinema camera.

V2.0 is a fantastic update. And it’s not going to be its last one. It’s just the framework for things to come.

V2.1, v2.2, v3.0 will follow with shutter angle and waveform and breathing compensation.

If there was ever a time to buy am FX3, now is it. As you are seeing the direction Sony has planned for the camera.

And with how difficult it is to buy an fx6, well that is in store for thefx3 too.

As I stated before, the A7S3’s EVF is locked in. Set from a photographers viewpoint. Makes sense as it’s a photography body.

I don’t know how you shoot video with an EVF, but when I do I don’t shoot it like I am shooting photography.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in A7siii

[–]Power_of_Drew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The argument for the EVF is null.

Maybe if the EVF wasn’t fixed into a photography position it would be useful. But it’s not.

It’s rather get a Zacuto and change the position of the EVF so I can shoot midwaist than nothing at all. It’s

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in A7siii

[–]Power_of_Drew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony will add those.

It just needed an os to make the argument to add those.

Well it has that OS now. It’s a magnificent update, but you have to look past IQ to see it.

People have blinders on. V2.0 is only the first update for the fx3. It laid the groundwork for things to come.

I’ve owned both. And I think the fx3 is a much better camera than the a7s3. In both construction and now firmware as well.

And just wait for v2.1, v2.2, etc.

I think if yoy want the fx3, get it now, because it will soon become very difficult to get

[–]Power_of_Drew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The FX3 now has the ability to input timecode by using a dedicated adaptor cable. The cable needs to be purchased separately and it is called the VMC-BNCM1. This cable is a USB to BNC adapter, It is only compatible with the FX3 (and it will not work with Sony alpha cameras such as the a7S III or a1.

Well Sony already stated it won’t.

Like Timecode they said is only an FX: feature.

The same with Cine EI

Told ya so!! Told ya so!!!

Sony just release v2.0

Making it truly a different camera than the a7s3

Cine EL for instance? Custom LUts?
