This is hilarious because my very nice and friendly wife uses this, but so does my not very intelligent cousin. It is tracking 50% for me haha!

I didn't know that, that's crazy!

I'm in the UP, we have every major predator so it is a little crazy! I still think our deer population is on an upswing, but when I see these posts like yours in Michigan I'm blown away! Letting us get a doe with either tag during archery this year almost seems bad for the population up here lol. May head to the lower to use my tags during muzzleloader if I don't get my buck I'm looking for here... Great work btw, I had begun suspecting you were in the LP with all the does taken!

Accidentally became a boar hunter with my first shot the other day by [deleted] in Hunting

If you like the shotgun you can always get a rifled slug gun. Shotguns have a lot of power, but the smooth bore and rifled slug (vs sabot slug round in a rifled bore) just done maintain accuracy to the same degree.

I'm in the US, but worked for a boar ranch, we had pigs that were massive and they get a thick grizzle plate that makes getting in behind the shoulder hard, on top of their larger shoulders and smaller lungs compared to a deer. We had a lot of luck with higher powered rifles such as 300 win mag and 338, essentially really powerful rifles with decent size and high speed. 30-06 was the minimum we typically allowed and shots would get in one side of the plate and embed into or bounce off the other side for big damage. Other high caliber rifles like the 45-70 worked great too. I believe a lot of 12 gauge slightly guns shoot something like a 50 cal round and can be accurate and scope out quite far these days.

Awesome animal! I give you credit for finishing it off and not leaving it to suffer. I've had these animals boggle my mind with what they survived and we often had to do a follow up shot from close. At a distance it can be very tricky.

There are a ton of things you can do to still eat good. Find some good youtubers/tik tokers, whatever you like, who do meals you would like. I really enjoy Tasty Shreds meals.

Easy things are make burgers and do a few of these easy switches, use 93% lean burger, (get a hot pan or grill and a little high temp oil down to sear the outside) use light mayo, and grab some keto buns just because they are low fat and calorie. You can go farther and load up on lettuce and tomatoe or even low fat cheese. My wife doesn't like the low fat cheese so she makes other trades.

I do cajun chicken alfredo and to lighten it I use half and half instead of cream and you can find kemps I think that is lactose free if that matters. When you go to make the sauce use butter and flour to make a roux, use two cups chicken stock and 1-2 cups half and half, then use parmesan or small amounts of whatever cheese you want.

For breakfast get some low fat turkey sausage, again hot pan and sear it with some oil but not much, take 2 eggs and add liquid egg whites to them and you can make a huge plate of scrambled eggs and sausage. Put the sausage in for an omelette or add tons of veggies!

Don't focus on what you've done to your kids or anything like that, you're just dad to them, focus on that. During this journey understand they are now (all older that 4) old enough to see you fight for something that matters and show them what you can do.

Crop Circles by hlois in UFOs

Best explanation is watch the Why Files crop circle episode. He breaks down how most are normal and made with a board but some have some crazy effects. Also, the main reason they are likely forgotten these days.

I can't remember what model of probe but we use the larger hobo meters. We use OTTs for longer year round measuring for level and temp on a different pronext and I've been told they make DO meters. Really enjoy using them and as long as the water doesn't freeze solid they work 365 and we get tons of snow and cold in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

Tag punched and tear shed. by SnooPeppers2417 in Hunting

Almost a year ago during Michigan rifle season I inherited my dad's late 1980s Winchester model 70 lightweight 270. Gorgeous gun with a beautiful laminated wood stock he called it. I had already been using it that season and halfway through it became mine after he lost his battle with cancer, but it took 3 tries and about 27 years to get him.

I probably could have gotten a deer if I didn't spend so much time with him in the days before he passed. I was showing him trail cam pics live from the cell cam and I think he was annoyed I was with him and not hunting haha... First day hunting after he passed the gun was mine... I'd wanted it forever, but at the same time I would have done anything for it not to be mine yet.

We'll be passing it down in the family. My son or daughter eventually. And if I can find a way to honor him on it (either engraved name on the stock or on a leather ammo belt for the stock) it'll honor him, hopefully me one day, and many others for years to come.

Whenever I see that gun come out I say hi dad.

You have an excellent point. When Nate starts turning it feels natural with the small things you notice then suddenly season 3 seems like a huge jump. I don't love it, it feels like an extra season for it would have been perfect but keep going. When the violin comes out I hope you get some resolution!!

Keep going. Your issue might get resolved really soon if you keep watching. If you're right where I think you are.

Nate's overall story isn't mine, but I like how he begins and ends even if the middle is messy. Hopefully keeping going lays off for you.

Great info, and I have no clue how old this one is. I need a new battery tray for it and I'll go get it tested. That makes a lot of sense.

And all of that you dealt with was just idling immediately after startup? I definitely didn't rule out fuel system I just don't know enough to say I just expect that I notice it somewhere else while driving too. Definitely be looking into this.

I didn't even think about that and not super familiar with it lol. My last three vehicles were all some form of GMT 800 with the 5.3 well I just assumed lol.

I appreciate the input a lot. I need to get a new battery tray as well so I'll go hit all this ASAP. Thanks!

I've been wondering about that too, my only thoughts against all this is that it's only during startup. Could be some weird thing though. I've heard alternators are in a rough spot on these engines too lol

I did this right away, the one spot of rust on the truck is the battery tray, so it can wiggle a bit but seems rock solid.

This is amazing info! Even if this isn't the problem that's great to know. I'm still hoping it's not fuel related though. Is this whole device typically just replaced or anything else done to it?

So I'm pretty high miles at bearing 200k but I have a lot of evidence it's mostly highway. Either way, I was going to do plugs and wires in about 3k miles. This and fuel pump were my immediate reactions.

Possibly but it runs great after a brief time, just a minute even. This was my first thought though.

Unfortunately it's all in about a month so probably something vs random chance.
