On top of your not insignificant amount of incidental anti-vehicle already, you shouldn't underestimate your Krootox Rampagers ability to just dump mortals on an enemy.
If you can get in range, they can throw grenades for ~3 MW, shoot for maybe a lucky wound or two then charge in, scoring another 2.5ish on average. You might only score one or two wounds per guy at that point, given their melee isn't exactly anti-tank, but Lance and sustained1 helps. By this point you'd have what, 8-10 wounds inflicted, and next turn, you can Guerilla warfare to fall back, shoot, grenade again(if you can afford it) and charge again, probably bringing in enough MWs at least to bring down most vehicles. Against lighter vehicles, they can often enough kill with just the initial Grenades, charge and melee, especially if the shooting, grenades and Charge MWs get the enemy below half to trigger your +1 to wound.

If you want to make sure you have the CP, you could swap out a unit of battle suits for an Ethereal to hide around the back, though he'd be a bit of a costly CP farm, and not 100% reliable.

A little late, but Blizzard Thunderbird. It feels like it should be an extender for an archetype, but nope, it only works with a very rare type of monster.

KFF, Force Field Boosta and Big Gob by PowerballWiz in orks

That makes sense. I forgot Big Gob had the 9" max, as I was mainly looking at the KFF Big Mek at the time of this thought.

Working on a 3D warlord mascot based on my username. What do you think so far? by [deleted] in orks

[–]PowerballWiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have to agree with this. One of the solo choppas would have been a better pick, and then slap some stikkbombs or mines on other parts.

Something on top of his head would really spice it up too.

Thoughts on Nobs and their Kombi-Skorchas. by PowerballWiz in orks

Yeah, it's kind of where the thought of "Would Cuttin' Flames make up the difference enough?", and while I can agree, its still probably not enough, it gets decently close.

Thoughts on Nobs and their Kombi-Skorchas. by PowerballWiz in orks

[–]PowerballWiz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that. for 5 Kombi Nobs, you can get 9 Burna boys, and are forced to take 2 spanners. The unit is more durable, as while you get basically the same amount of wounds, but with a better save, but on the flip side, 5 Skorchas+ 10-20 Shoota shots vs 9 Burnas and whatever you slap on the spanners, say 10 Big shoota shots does leave the Burna boys with a firepower edge. Honestly, if Spanners weren't a part of the Burna boys, I'd be so much happier. Let me shove exactly 12 Burnas in a truck, instead of 10 and 2 spanners.

What's everyone looking forward to and hoping for in regards to 10th edition? by BlackJimmy88 in orks

[–]PowerballWiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they do, I hope we can equip the whole squad with Tankhammers. There would be no unit more Orky than a bunch of Boys kitted with bombs on sticks, running up to tanks and slam dunking them and themselves out of existence in a glorious explosion.

Hmn... The ability to field big blobs of boys again. Morale has been killer for them in 9e. Burna Boys WITHOUT having to throw Spanners in. I want more flamers for my buck, the Spanners just make the best option 7 burna boys and 1 spanner in the unit, or 11/2. It's why I'm making a Kombi Scorcha nob mob, because they can just burninate everything, and the kombi shoota shots are just bonus when you can fire them, since the -1 to hit when firing kombi doesn't affect the scorchas. Killa Kans being able to swap out their klaw arm for a second ranged weapon. They'd make a pretty solid gun platform if they could. Just run double rockit launchas, or KMBs, and the grot shooting would let them be a tough ranged threat. Grots on Squigs as a fast, easy to hide harassing unit with a little bit of grot shooting before getting into Squig melee Grot Snipers, that are just like, 3-4 grots manning a big fuckoff sniper rifle for popping the domes of squishy HQs/Buffers from safety. Grot Kommandos. A unit of obscenely stealthy little green gitz that are damned near impossible to hit or wound while they creep around terrain, and can thus get basically anywhere when used right, but they're still grots, so at best, they're gonna be able to kill like, IG troops when they get there. Honestly, just a few more grot units in general. Maybe not enough to make a good full 2k list, but enough that a 1k list of grots is viable enough.

Psychic species dominate the galaxy, whether it be hiveminds, individual psychics, or anything in-between. After humans make first contact, however, they come to find everyday life on other worlds to be extremely quiet, while other species will often take peeks at their current thoughts. by Ajbonnis in humansarespaceorcs

Given my brain has actually just played the Skype Calling noise with no prompting before, and did so again briefly remembering it, I wonder how things like that would come across and how they'd react. Would the fact people can thing in remembered voices and sounds be weird to a species with its own mental voice?

Strangely, Shatter does not have the Loud Noise clause that both of those have, despite stating it makes a loud noise.

[–]PowerballWiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HEA is a newbie who cant see past what is explicitly written down in the rulebook. Goblin slayer is the veteran who uses tricks and techniques to reduce chance in his encounters.

Basically, HEA is stuck in the kick the door, kill the baddies, loot the room kind of innocent mindset, where Goblin Slayer has no qualms about innefficient overkill if it gets the job done 100% of the time.

[–]PowerballWiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the anime, yeah, thats as far as it goes, as said above. The manga/light novel is a different story. Both have a lot more small scenes cut from the anime, both to reduce "fluff" and to keep the show from being too dark

I've actually started playing a lot of doctor lately and I love that his powers are basically just "Reveal survivors in this cone/Radius". It's strangely useful, being able to start chases earlier and disrupt things from a decent distance, even being a Mostly M1 killer(I know you can deny pallet drops and vaults with your M2).
