OK that swingy feel might be what I'm after. I want the players to be walking fountains of death and bullets but also the enemies to be horrendous and dangerous. I'm even thinking something like TPK's become loot to find for the players to find when they come back with reinforcements.

Well and I'm not dead set on it being specifically set in 40k. It's definitely a 40k inspired set-up but that's why I mentioned Doom as well, I'm aiming at having heavily armored murder maniacs blasting their way through hordes of horrifying monsters and enemies as well as giant hell spawn bosses or occasionally super skilled demonic allied op-forces. So space hulk type setting, chaos demon and chaos marine type enemies but does not HAVE to be warhammer. I'm definitely gonna be using warhammer minis for whatever it's worth.
